moving items to the obsolete/ tree

i have started a push to move items to the obsolete tree. at least in
part, this is to relieve the load on mirror sites, many of which
(quite reasonably) do not carry the obsolete tree.

if eager users of ctan find i have moved something that is (as far as
they are concerned) of vital everyday importance, they should contact
the ctan team (as normal, via ctan@...).

if other users feel know of items that could be moved without loss of
generality, again please contact ctan@...

Re: update of amscls distribution

I have posted some patches for the amscls distribution
to ftp://ftp.ams.org/pub/tex. The main change was to add support in the
AMS BibTeX styles for the MRNUMBER field as provided by MathSciNet.

update of amsmath distribution

I have posted some patches for the amsmath distribution to
ftp://ftp.ams.org/pub/tex. Primarily to clear up a loading sequence
problem with the german package (or any package that changes the catcode
of the double-quote character) that was accidentally introduced in the
last round of patches. The installation instructions were also revised
slightly.

i've installed the file as biblio/bibtex/utils/isi2bib/isi2bib

this is a bit tedious, i suppose, but it's the simplest way to make it
fit in the structure of the biblio/... hierarchy
