DVI previewer tmview 96.05 installed

I have installed the new version 96.05 of the DVI previewer tmview
(replacing 96.01) on ftp.dante.de in tex-archive/dviware/tmview.

It will propagate to ftp.tex.ac.uk and to mirrors of ftp.dante.de
overnight and maybe to ftp.shsu.edu too.

A short description from the package (file IAFA-PACKAGE):

Title: tmview
Version: 96.05
Description: SVGA-lib based DVI-previewer. Fast, offers xdvi-like
                anti-aliasing, text-string searching, arbitrary-zooming,
bookmarks, some of the hypertex features.

CTAN upload

I have uploaded to ftp.dante.de:/incoming a new version of
fancyheadings.sty.

To be moved to tex-archive/macros/latex209/contrib/fancyheadings/

This is the last release of version 1.

I have version 2 almost ready, but I will give it another name. It will
still be backwards compatible, but it also has a new user interface, that
is much easier to use. The new name will be fancyhdr.sty (8+3), but I want
the file under the old name to be as much up to date as possible.

I have installed the files as requested. They should soon propagate to
ftp.tex.ac.uk and the CTAN mirrors.

These files are now on ftp.dante.de in tex-archive/dviware/dvipsconfig and
will soon propagate to ftp.tex.ac.uk and the CTAN mirrors.

I have installed his apa directory here at ftp.tex.ac.uk

It should make it back to SHSU some day; a copy should be on
ftp.cdrom.com fairly soon

I finally got around to installing these packages at ftp.tex.ac.uk

They will propagate to dante in due course, and thence (eventually) to
SHSU.

After a certain amount of discussion with Peter, I went away to think
about where they should go, forgot about them, noticed a posting of
his mentioning them, printed them out, and finally (on a public
holiday, today) had time to evaluate them.

In the event, I've decided to install them both in macros/generic,
rather than to create a new macros/generic/test. There's no

The tar file turned out not to contain all it claimed to contain, and
(as is my wont with things that aren't entirely trivial) the upload
fell off the back of my mind.

The stuff is now installed at ftp.tex.ac.uk as support/printmagic

Portmanteau footnote package

I have just installed at ftp.tex.ac.uk a new package which offers a
variety of footnote facilities

 - paragraph footnotes (i.e., all the footnotes on a page are run
   together as a single paragraph
 - footnotes numbered `per page' (using code by Brian Schellenberger,
not as far as I know related to the footnpag package)
 - footnotes forced to the bottom of the page when the page otherwise
ends short (though `bottom' floats still appear below the
   footnotes)

plus one or two other related minor facilities.

The package requires David Kastrup's patch package, available as
macros/generic/patch.doc

Though it is supported, the package is only tested under current LaTeX
(1994/12/01); I've been working (on and off) on this package since
that halcyon Christmas holiday in 1993 when the first Alpha release of
LaTeX2e kept us all busy... When I came to need it for a private
project recently, it didn't work; substantial changes were necessary,
and I can't say for sure which version necessitated those changes.

The installation took place (of course) at ftp.tex.ac.uk

Who knows when it will make its way across the pond...?

[LaTeX, Metafont, Graphics, Feynman diagrams] FEYNMF v1.05 released

This announces version 1.05 of feynmf, a combined LaTeX/Metafont
package for easy drawing of professional quality Feynman (and maybe
other) diagrams.

If you don't know if feynmf is useful for you, have a look at the
preformatted manual (`manual.ps.gz') or at the tutorial:

	  HTML: http://wwwcn1.cern.ch/cnls/220/node57.html [Part 1]
		http://wwwcn1.cern.ch/cnls/221/node63.html [Part 2]
		http://wwwcn1.cern.ch/cnls/222/node38.html [Part 3]
    PostScript: ftp://asisftp.cern.ch/cnl/220/textproc.ps.gz [Part 1]
		ftp://asisftp.cern.ch/cnl/221/textproc.ps.gz [Part 2]
		ftp://asisftp.cern.ch/cnl/222/textproc.ps.gz [Part 3]

The software will show up through the magic of mirroring at the CTAN
host near you.

Enjoy,
-Thorsten

NEWS for Version 1.05

    * FeynMF now coexists with french.sty and other packages that
    change the \catcode of ``:''.

    * Fixed a bug introduced in version 1.03, which could cause
problems with font loading. Unfortunately, the fix has to give up
some compatibility with earlier versions. Sources for version
1.02 and earlier which used \noexpand in labels have to upgraded
or the option `pre-1.03' has to be used. Sorry.
