monitoring


Has anyone done any scripts (or something else) to notify if something goes
down?

Example:

Asterisk_1 is peered to Asterisk_2
Asterisk_1 has qualify=yes
Asterisk_1 notices that Asterisk_2 is not responding
Asterisk_1 sends email to cell phone "Asterisk_2 peer down"

Garrett, evidently there is some verbage to that effect on the site.  But just to let you know, no other business that we've done business with requires anything like that.  Not a one. 

Also worthy of note is that the purchase was not a credit card order, so I'm rather surprised your terms regarding credit cards would apply.

In retrospect, I guess I should have spent the 16 hours browsing your site looking for the fine print instead of waiting for a prompt shipment.

But, alas...  We found someone that knows how to do business with businesses.

I have mine set to "astpp".  ASTPP then creates a MySQL named "astpp" 
where is stores most of it's info.  It creates it when you run the 
"create database" button in the configure screen.

I'm seeing the same thing.  I'm running -HEAD, checked out earlier
this afternoon, on Mac OS X.  Here are the symptoms:

1) I can leave voicemail messages without a problem

2) The file is present in the directory:

  % ls -l /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/bikeworld/102/INBOX/
-rwx------   1 asterisk  asterisk  5066 May 31 18:39 msg0000.WAV
-rw-r--r--   1 asterisk  asterisk   251 May 31 18:39 msg0000.txt

3) The wav file is e-mailed to the recipient, who can play them
without a problem

4) When the user dials the voicemail extension/application to listen
to the message, I see the following console messages when Asterisk
attempts to play the file:

May 31 18:35:27 WARNING[21838]: format_wav.c:135 check_header: Not a wav file 49
May 31 18:35:27 WARNING[21838]: file.c:416 ast_filehelper: Unable to
open fd on /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/bikeworld/102/INBOX/msg0000.wav
May 31 18:35:27 WARNING[21838]: file.c:802 ast_streamfile: Unable to
open /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/bikeworld/102/INBOX/msg0000 (format
ulaw): No such file or directory
  == Spawn extension (sipphones, 2222, 2) exited non-zero on 'SIP/102-f008'

At this point, the voicemail app hangs up on the user.

Some possible factors:

- I'm running Asterisk as a non-root user.  /var/spool/asterisk and
its subdirectories *are* owned by this user

- I'm running -HEAD and I'm running on a Mac.  Case sensitivity issue maybe?

- In my voicemail.conf, I have 'format=wav49' because the default
settting of 'format=wav49|gsm|wav' yielded voicemail files that were
nothing but loud static

Does anybody have any ideas?

Here's look at a MISERABLE FAILURE and I use facts:

George W. Bush (herein referred to as 'bushwhack') is the village idiot and he pushed a series of Trojan
horses at Americans:

1) The Overtime Pay act is nothing more than a backdoor attempt to strip professionals of overtime pay under
the disguise of providing overtime to a mere 800K people. As a result, over 8MILLION Americans loose
overtime pay because they make more the 22,000 which is the cutoff point for overtime pay. So ANYONE making
more than $22K is NOT eligible for overtime pay.

2) Then there's the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT which educators call the NO CHILD LEFT ACT. It strips funding for
'gifted' students (how are American children supposed to be the best and brightest?) and yet it keeps
funding for bi-lingual teachers needed for illegal aliens.

3) Lets not forget those Weapons of Mass Deception he talked about last spring. He sent our troops into
battle over lies.

4) Bushwhack is slowly destroying our environment. He's turned the U.S. into the laughing stock of the
world because he won't sign the Kyoto Treaty, even thought the U.S. is the biggest poluter on planet.

5) How about the 2 recent trade agreements (Chile and Singapore) which have visa provisions allowing cheap
labor to be imported on H-1Bs. Everyone in technology knows about this problem and many lost their jobs to H-1Bs.

6) Let's not forget the stolen election in Florida - read these words -

S T O L E N E L E C T I O N.

His Florida campaign manager was none other than Kathrine Harris - the Florida Attorney General who
"certified" the election. Her boss was Jeb Bush, bushwhack's brother. Instead of being indicted for
election fraud she was rewarded - with a position in the House of Representatives in a district with no
other candidate running - from the democratic party, or any OTHER party. She ran unopposed.

OK, setting 'format=wav' is a temporary workaround.  Could there be
some problem with writing wav49 files in -HEAD?

Suppress "Missed Calls" 7960 SIP

Does anyone know how to suppress the "Missed Calls" indication -- 
perhaps on a per-line basis -- on the 7960 running SIP?

Reason: I've configured a group of extensions to ring for inbound calls 
and it seems pointless to accrue missed calls on those line 
presentations.
