I like WritePad's HWR. The latest version works good.

Using a Newton keyboard via Serial-USB adapter with a Mac or PC?

I believe I tried it a long time ago, and it was a fail. I haven't tried it lately, now that USB drivers are
better. Sounds like a challenge. :-)

MP130 not recognizing PCMCIA

My MP2100 has no issues with same cards.

Most people who've been using a 2x00 for a longer time tend to forget that
the earlier models have a switch that needs to be engaged to tell the Newton
that a card has been inserted. The 130's switch is at the bottom side.

Battery Power problem

Clean all four contacts of the battery thoroughly. If this doesn't fix
things, have a look here:

There you'll find a picture of the negative contact and the spring and case
part that are holding it in place. The case part of this mechanism is kind
of fragile, so that's where the problem might be.

Another thing that happens frequently is that the positive contact looses a
bit of its springiness and is eventually bent back towards the mainboard. If
this happens, you'll often encounter what you describe. You should be able
to bend it back without taking the Newton apart. While you are at it, it
wouldn't hurt to try to clean both battery contacts inside the Newton, too.
If you look into the Newton's battery slot with the battery slot pointing
towards the right, the positive contact is way down at the left side of the
battery slot.

All this, of course, will be much easier if you remove the bottom case half
and the bottom part of the battery case. The page mentioned above will tell
you how to do this.

Well, it turns out that the SORBS blacklisting was not the main issue after all. (Although, it was good to get
that particular problem sorted out as well.)

Apparently, the SMTP server at Media Template simply stopped accepting mail from our Mailman listserv.
This may have been a memory allocation issue on the virtual host or some other networking burp. Who knows?
Once the server was rebooted, all of the queued messages were delivered.
