Re: Ideal SONY Wireless LAN Card for Newton ! 128 bits OK

So, the PCWA-C150, BUT NOT the 150S, will work in the Newton?  How does it look?  Not much protrusion?
Thanks.

Well after looking at the new scan Bruno sent me I will clarify for myself
and others in case there was any confusion. The C150s that was in the
auction to date is still only confirmed as Non-Working with MP2000/2100.

The scan I received was for the C150 which is the same card that I have and
is basically a WaveLAN GOLD which can so 128bit encryption and is recognized
by the Pismo, Wallstreet and IBM ThinkPad I tested with as a WaveLAN (and an
Airport in the PowerBooks)

Pictures will be posted thank to the courtesy of Bruno :)

Here is a pic of the PCWA-C150
http://flickr.com/photos/sonnyhung/92016538/in/set-72057594088639324/

The card when inserted into the Newton will not extend past the Newton. Now
to clarify this is with the Antenna OFF.
With the Antenna installed ON it will extend past the Newton about 1/4"
(.25")

Re: blueprint2

It's your lucky day Jan!

Version 1 & 2 of Blueprint were released as Charityware and then opensourced to the Newton Community in
2004. You can download Blueprint 2 and the original Blueprint here:

Sine of the Times Software

To all,

In my search of advanced calculator, I went through Newton Reference although I knew that most of the links
were dead ( http://www.panix.com/~clay/newton/ ). However as I explored the old links with the 'Way Back
Machine' or www.archive.org, I came across this site which offers all their software as
CharityWare/Freeware. The Sine of the Times web site offers the following:

BluePrint2/Blueprint - Project manager
PowerSet - Advanced calculator
Formula - Mathematical Expressions
CardMedia - Newton Names Enhancement
ShowMate - Remote Control

They are ALL described and Formula, CardMedia and Showmate can be downloaded from here: http://web.archive.org/web/20060514074548/http://www.sineware.com/
The original Blueprint manual should also be downloaded from there also but the BluePrint & PowerSet
software and source code are stored on www.sarofax.com and downloadable.

Many thanks to the authors of these still useful programs for making them available to the Newton
community. Best wishes to all on Newtontalk.

Regards,

Rob

Re: Poutine? (was: WWNC 2009?)

I had some - not on the menu & made just for me - at a hotel in
Toronto last June.
Not great, but also not truly traditional - I could tell that a better
effort would be pretty awesome...

Re: Connecting to the Internet

Sounds like you are using a wired card connected to a router. so I
don't know the relevance of the Wifi driver,
Why use a manual setup?
just let the router do its job.
have a look at

Re: Poutine? (was: WWNC 2009?)

I was in Calgary a couple of weeks ago to see Cirque du Soleil and
stopped at a little cheese shop. I bought a packet of St. Hubert
Melange a Sauce Poutine (Poutine sauce mix) direct from Laval Quebec.
The shop also has proper "squeeky" curds delivered fresh every
Wednesday. Everything that you need to roll your own Poutine sans the
potato and copious quantities of fat.
