I'm about ready to throw this thing into Puget Sound.

	I have a 2100 with a 3C589D-TP EtherLink III card, a Bronze Turbo
WiFi card, and a licensed driver for the WiFi card. Everything
worked fine until recently, then the Etherlink III quit working.
Then I couldn't log on via WiFi with the WiFi card. So I backed up
everything, wiped my data card, did a brain wipe, then reinstalled
everything but the drivers and NIE. Reinstalled them. Same
problems. I've got to get someone who's in the Seattle or Portland
area to look at this rig: I keep trying to get the settings correct
and am getting profoundly fed up...

Re: I'm about ready to throw this thing into Puget Sound.

While I can sympathize, having spent the day installing Windows 98SE on two
machines that both resisted the process, and the previous week failing to
get a connection to my Novell server, I think I am pretty safe saying that
throwing the Newton into Puget Sound (or the bay of Green Bay, in my own
case), will relieve stress only until you realize what you just did.
Better to rest and tackle the problem in the morning. That way you might
decide to sell it instead of drown it.

Re: I'm about ready to throw this thing into Puget Sound.

I wiped my Newton a few weeks ago because something dodgy was going on with
Names and had to re-install Bluetooth and Wifi services. After a bit of
fiddling it worked. Maybe you are overlooking something minute but significant.
Have you checked your network to make sure that it is OK? Sometimes security
systems can shut you out.

Woops! Sorry I totally missed this, so thanks for bringing it up
again ;~)

I think somehow I saw filepad in the subject line of the previous
sent stuff and thought it was a windows thing (notepad of sorts) so I
went right past it.

Aha! I guess I wasn't completely wrong. I can take care of this
(IMG to zip), no worries.

I hope to get to this (update) by the weekend, but it's a bit crazy
here, so we shall see...

Re: An important day today...

I turned 55 this year.
Therese will be over 55 when she retires from the world Bank in 2.5 or 3 years.
2.5-million!
She spins wool into artistic yarn and sells online. We are considering that.

Looking for games for an 8 year old child

Hi all,

the subject says it all. Anything that you can
recommend and that is freeware? I did of course
check unna first, but most of what's there isn't
described, and I do not want to have to try them
all out...

Thanks in advance

Frank
