Re: Hard Drive w/ Newton?

While this is true, MicroDrives are much more expensive and limited in
capacity than the 2.5" HDs the Datashuttle uses. What I was mainly
wondering was whether this adapter (or similar ones) could now or
eventually be able to work with these drivers to increase the Newton's
expandability. This was the only description I got of the item, so I do
not know the voltages. The biggest issue I thought would be whether it
were Cardbus (not compatible with the Newton), which I googled and
found out it was not. Has anyone tried something like this or similar
to hook up a hard drive (not microdrive) to your Newton? Thanks!

A spare MP2100?

I'm looking for an MP2100 to supplement the one I have had since '97 and
which is growing a bit tired. Does anyone have a candidate or know of a
reliable source?

Re: internewt

Did anything ever come of the planned release of LunaSuite as
open source/freeware that was discussed some months back? Because I
found it to have the easiest to use interface of all the Newton
browsers, but when my copy crashed it took out all the data I had on
the memory card plugged into my 2100 as well so I haven't been able
to work up the courage to try it again...

Re: exporting from Newton to a Mac

What I used is QuickFigure Works.
There is QuickFigure Exchange to import/export spreadsheets to MS Excel.

Cheers

I personally like

http://www.esato.com/board/viewforum.php?forum=35

a lot. You have to register to postand/or to see the images. I'd
advize to search the archive prior to asking newbee questions, as some
of its participants are less tolerant than the good folks on Newtontalk.

I somehow managed to get Nethopper on line. You were right- it's
reasonably fast, but It doesn't do JPEGs. Nor does Newtscape. I quess I
will have to look after a patch or something.
See you later

Re: Hard Drive w/ Newton?

Microdrive or not, unless the Newton somehow speeds up the way
it accesses larger drives, and how it inputs information, large storage
areas on the Newton are pointless.=09

NCU newbie

I finally found an OS 9 external hard drive and so I am going to try
NCU to move everything off my current ATA card onto a new 20 MB
linear card I found. I have 4 partitions on the 32 MB card and I'd
like to consolidate everything onto the 20 MB card.
I just read the Read Me that comes with NCU and it says this:

• NCU supports storage cards of 4MB or less.

Is this true?

I read the Wiki on doing this shuffling of packages from one card to
another using NCU. I have a serial cable, a wireless card, and a
wired Ethernet card. What is the most robust means of backing up
with NCU and then restoring that to a new card?

Thanks,
Tom Isenbarger

Well I know Newtscape does. However you need to have the image module
installed (separate package).

And I know I have heard that Nethoper can. Although since I have never
done it myself, I can't advise you how to do it.
