Re: newtontalk Digest V3 #628

Hi everyone.
I am selling my newton 2100. It seems that it would be better off
going to a home where it is used more than a showpiece. I am throwing
it out to you guys before i post it on E-Bay. You guys have been so
helpful getting this running and working. Don't fret, i will be
keeping my 130 for fun.
I will take paypal if someone wants to buy it. $375 for it all +
shipping.
Below is what's included
Newton 2100 in great condition with many accessories. There is a real
small mark on the screen, but it has no effect on screen. Backlight is
working and very bright. Case is in perfect shape. All clips and
doors are on and working. Also included are Newton stylus, keyboard,
carrying case (original with the logo), power adaptor, serial adaptor
and cable and two PCMCIA blanks. An 8 MB flash card is included as
well. Also included is a KeySpan adaptor to connect it to a computer
with no serial port. This is a complete and working set I put together
and used. This is a great Newton that I want to go to a good home.
Includes:
*Newton Message Pad 2100 Original Not an Update
*Newton original stylus
*Newton keyboard
*Newton power adaptor
*Newton Battery (holds charge for days)
*Battery sled (holds 4 AA Bats)
*Original canvas carrying case for Newton and keyboard
*2 Serial dongles
*connection kit for Windows without serial
*Two PCMCIA blanks
*10MB flash card

Unlock Code for Leverage

OK, so I posted about this a while back and didn't get much word. I
want to use the database Leverage 3 off UNNA, the package I downloaded
and installed says the demo has expired ...

I e-mailed the contact name in the about window but didn't get an
answer.

Anyone come to the rescue on this one?

Absolutely not insulted on this side ;-)

Thought it was funny when I saw that video for the first time, less
amusing after I read this :-(

Re: Rechargeable NiMH AA bateries for Newton

I cannot agree to that:

1) this is a common opinion, but practice prooved the contrary already:
I used to charge NiMH 1500mAh cells within my MP120 without having any
problem over years.
2) It depends of course which model you are talking about:
the MP 2x00 series has NiMH battery packs from the beginning, while the
original battery packs for the MP 120 were NiCd.
3) The charging circuitry in the MP120 and the charging station as well are
not that dedicated that you cannot recharge NiMHs.

Do you have a backup? If yes brain wipe your Newt and restore without
the offending data from 'The Fish'.
If not it doesn't sound too good. In general (I know this comes too
late for you) beware of encryption software, nothing can screw up your
data more if it goes sour (Mac OS X first incarnation of File Vault
comes to mind).

Subject: [NTLK] MP 130 Stylus

Several months back I purchased a MP 130 on eBay w/o a stylus. At the
time I figured I could just use the stylus from my MP 2000 because I
could never need more than one stylus at a time. It turns out that I
was wrong. Does anyone have a stylus (preferably a 130 stylus that
will fit into the holder on top) they would be willing to sell? Thank
you.
