Re: Getting started

Thank you. I have an iAudio X5 that will be arriving here in a couple of days. Will through rockbox on it and see
what I see in regards to charging. I'm guessing its hard to test charging with an emulator and thats why some
of the charging stuff remains unresolved. I'll see what I can dig up with the device.

How to draw a solid square on 1st gen ipod?

I'm trying to get my dualnback plugin working on more platforms. Right
now it assumes a color LCD screen, but I'd like it to work on
greyscale 1st gen ipods and the like. I think I need to be using the
lcd_define_pattern function to draw my square (it's just a plain solid
square) but I'm not sure how the 'pattern' parameter actually works.
Other plugins seem to use random hex values. Anyone know?

strange message when building voice

hi list.
I was just building an rb voice, I haven't tested it yet, as its still
making, but some of the wav files seem to play fine before they are turned
into mp3s, after which of course winamp can't deal with them.
But anyway, just before cygwin started generating the voice clips I saw a
message I have never scene before.
Just wondering if someone can let me no what it means and if I should worry
about it.
the message is.

Rockbox skips through Ogg files

I recently converted all of my music to Ogg format. Now rockbox won't
play them, it just skips through the songs, then shows (root). What
could be causing this?

Corrupt or invalid files and/or tags is a pretty common reason for Rockbox to skip files. Generally if it
can't make sense of the header, it will skip the file. I would verify that you have valid files, and then if
you do, post a link to one such file.

You may have accidentally sent this to the wrong list. This is the -dev
list, for development. Support issues should generally be taken up on
the user list.

Re: Rockbox skips through Ogg files

Yeah, probably the wrong list. These ogg files play fine in Ubuntu.
Just thought perhaps it was something simple.

You're also top-posting. According to the list etiquette at
http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read
          text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
       A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing in e-mail?

check if something put id3 tags to your files. Those are not allowed
for ogg files, but some programs add them nevertheless. This would be
something simple ...
