As an update, the freeware version can only compare against single files,
not directories (the shareware version can but I didn't try it).

Re: Showing tracknames only in file view.

I've rewritting this patch completely. It now features automatic filename
grouping!  Check it out:  http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=2857.0

que?

Christian,

Can you please enlighten us what that em84xx[*] stuff is you committed to our
CVS the other day. I was expecting a big explanation posted to this list, but
so far I haven't seen any...

Re: Showing tracknames only in file view.

I like it. But I'd rather keep the track numbers, they don't take up much
space anyway. Would that be possible?

Sure, I'll add it to the next release. I've also since added a setting to
change the number of space indents used for grouped files (2 looks great on
my Chicago style font, but 1 is better for eg. Rockbox default).

Btw to be clear, the file grouping mechanism doesn't rely on a particular
naming scheme, it simply tries to match preceeding text between files
intelligently and creates groups where appropriate. It works with any
filetype (user-configurable).

How to init and add to current playlist from plugin?

I'm writing some code to read the iTunesDB and want to be able to select and play an iTunes playlist. Is it possible to access the functions in apps/playlist.h from a plugin? In particular, I'd like to do something equivalent to

playlist_init();
playlist_add(file);
playlist_start(0, 0);

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: How to init and add to current playlist from plugin?

You need to add all the functions you want to use to plugin.h (iirc). After
that, they can be used from within the plugin. Be sure to add them to the end
if possible, so you won't loose backwards compatibility.

make file help please

I am working on a plugin in a cygwin h120 sim and I am
tired of waiting for make to find out that nothing
else has changed apart from the plugin itself. So I
just want to compile that single c file. For that
purpose I added a new target to the makefile in my
build directory like this:

helloworld:
	$(SILENT)$(MAKE) -C $(APPSDIR)/plugins
OBJDIR=$(BUILDDIR)/apps/plugins helloworld

but when I to use it with

make helloworld

I get a linker error:

/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-mingw32/3.4.4/../../../../i686-pc-mingw32/lib/libmingw32.a(
main.o):main.c:(.text+0x106): undefined reference to
`_WinMain <at> 16'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [helloworld] Error 1
make: *** [helloworld] Error 2

Has anyone a suggestion on how i can make it work?

And as a bonus question: how can I stop it from
checking all the bitmap dirs. ;)

Cheers
  Robert

Small convbdf fix

Convbdf fails on BDF fonts with an empty copyright field (which AFAIK is
legal) such as some fonts created by fontforge. Attached is a quick
patch fixing this.

The build system (and everything else) is dead slow on cygwin because the file
system/handling is extremely slow in cygwin.

If you really want to venture down that road I wish you good luck but I don't
feel like spending much of _my_ time on it.
