Was it not a spoofed email ?? (Was: Re: (no subject))

Hi Martin,

Thanks for notifying me. Are you sure that this was not a spoofed email? I cannot check this from here because
I am only subscribed to the digests of the Fish mailing list.

Anyway, to exclude the possibility that someone hacked my yahoo account I have just updated the password.

It seems impossible to me that I got hit by a Trojan. I always run a very tight iptables policy, and I never use
anything remotely related to Windows.

Best wishes,

Guido

fishshell.org

hi,

fishshell.org is about to expire again.
curent status is on hold for potential renewal.

of course the domain is of no use unless someone can fix the dns, but do
we want to let it expire and risk it getting picked up by squatters, or
do we want to try to get axel to transfer the domain so that someone
else can manage it?

greetings, martin.

Re: sudo vs fish - have to re-enter password

I've done some testing, the problem was introduced with sudo revision f9aec9ab9054, but the changes from revision 8649bf22b3b2 are needed to get sudo to build. Sources from www.sudo.ws. This is the description of the changeset:

Store info from stat(2)ing the tty in the tty ticket when tty tickets
are in use.  If the tty lives on a devpts (Linux) or devices (Solaris)
filesystem, stash the ctime in the tty ticket file, as it is not
updated when the tty is written to.  This helps us determine when
a tty has been reused without the user authenticating again with
sudo.

Anyone who knows about devpts/tty's etc interested in also having a look?

After upgrading to ubuntu 11.04, (with sudo 1.7.4) I now have this same problem. Disabling tty_tickets solves it, but that is only a workaround since that is a security feature that is disabled. On another ubuntu 10.04 install with sudo 1.7.2 this problem does not exist. On 11.04 with bash it's not a problem. Conclusion: there is a bug in the way fish and sudo interact. Anyone has any idea how this could happen?

I had also been having that problem (on Gentoo) for a couple months now.
Thank you for figuring it out and posting the link!
