EFW 2.5.1 on a IBM x3100 M4

Hi all,

I've installed an EFW 2.5.1 on a IBM x3100 M4, so far it was everything
ok until I tried to add a PCI Express network card. It seems that EFW
doesn't recognizes the PCI-E bus so it doesn't recognizes the NIC.

The lspci command gives me this output:

Re: EFW 2.5.1 on a IBM x3100 M4

Hello Emiliano,
I suggest you only use intel or 3com network cards.
the last time I used old or not supported cards, the network did set
to 10 half duplex.

hello

ciao Emiliano,
ti consiglio di utilizzare solo schede di rete intel oppure 3com .
l'ultima volta che ho utilizzato schede vecchie o non supportate la
rete si settava a 10 half duplex.

ciao

Re: EFW 2.5.1 on a IBM x3100 M4

Thanks for your answer Giuseppe,

The network card it's fully supported by efw 2.5.1, in fact I have another efw with this network card working very well.

Like I've say before the issue is with the PCI-E bus, maybe someone had the same issue and solved loading the required module or something like that.

Unstable VPN

Hi.
I just replaced a customer's ZyWall with EFW 2.5.1, I'm using 2.4 myself.
I had an IPSec vpn configured with Zywall, working fine.
Now that I moved to EFW on the other side as well I thought things would go better, instead I'm having a lot of troubles.
I.e. when I try to downoad "lots" of data, like opening a remote file with vi, the connection drops, screen
freezes and won't go further, while if I open a new connection everything is fast and working!

How's possible?
On both sides I used the standard IPsec settings.

Thanks

[EFW 2.5.1] Routes

Hi, I'm trying to setup some routes and since EFW 2.2 the GUI seems to be not working.

Up to EFW I could add route on a script located at /etc/init.d/rc.local but on 2.5.1 seems that it doesn't exists anymore.

Any idea if there is a workaround for this routes issue ?

Regards.-

I've had similar issues.

I've worked around this by creating manually using the route command.

Re: [EFW 2.5.1] Routes

Hello,  I'm using the Web interface to setup routes without trouble in every version since 2.1 until 2.5. Both in community as in paid versions. I also have more than 50 endians running and almost every one has routing to other gws apart from the default setup.
What rule do you wish to setup?
Cheers,
Pedro

Hello!

I configured statics routes via: Network -> Routing
I tried both, static and policy routing with definitions like:

Destination: 10.0.1.0/24
Gateway: 192.168.1.253

Or:

Source: ANY
Destination: 10.0.1.0/24
Gateway: 192.168.1.253

And:

Source: GREEN / LOCAL
Destination: 10.0.1.0/24
Gateway: 192.168.1.253
