The Harvard Author-date style

Hello,

I am looking for a Harvard author-day output style. I am very grateful
if anyone can send me a customized one.

question about Chicago-based styles

Hi, everyone,

We're using Endnote X on Windows XP.

A group within my organization is adopting EndNote and we're
investigating adopting one of the default/standard styles.

I have several questions about that, but I've asked them of the tech
support people at EndNote.

So one of the other editors asked me to look into whether Endnote has an
output style for the Chicago Manual of Style. I found three output
styles with the name "Chicago", but when I format entries with one of
them, there are no citations. Using one of those styles just creates bib
entries sans corresponding citations.

Is that correct? Is there some other output style that's associated with
the Chicago Manual of Style?

TOC filter for ISI Journals

Does anyone have a filter that enables you to import email TOC (Table of
Content) alerts from ISI Web of Knowledge journals into Endnote? We are
also looking for a filter to export citations from the SCIRUS database
into Endnote.

Regards,

Emma

Voice recognition software Endnote and Microsoft Word.
Does anybody had experience running Dragon Naturally Speaking with EN
and MSWord?
I am using Dragon 9, EN X02 and MS Word 2003.
I seem to be experiencing frequent computer freezes or crashes. I know
than EN is memory hungry as is Dragon. Are there any tricks to using the
3 software programs simultaneously ?

Endnote and Dragon question

Sarah:

I use all three programs (though I use Word 2007). What version of
Dragon are you using? Is it Standard or preferred? The preferred version
is much better.

Are you using Vista or XP?

My experience is that running all three at once can be problematic,
especially if you are working in longer documents. Endnote list members
have commented on this for Endnote, and this is a real problem for
Dragon. This is a bigger problem if you do not have sufficient memory on
your computer.

I have Vista and 2 meg of RAM, which helps a bit. It could be worth it
to install as much memory as you can in your machine. The other issue is
to try and work in smaller documents as much as possible.

There is a great discussion board for Dragon where people ask questions
and discuss issues. Dragon has many quirks, as you know. Go to the
Knowbrainer Forum (and then go to the Dragon page)
http://www.knowbrainer.com/PubForum/index.cfm

Best of luck,

Richard

RE: Chicago styles

Dear Barbara,

The three Chicago styles are Chicago 15th A, Chicago 15B, and Chicago
Review (a journal, NOT the Chicago Manual of Style).

Chicago 15th A includes formatting for a bibliography, footnotes, and
in-text citations; Chicago 15th B does not include footnotes.

Chicago 15th A is the style you want to use. If the in-text citations
are not appearing properly, you can adjust this by going into
Edit>Output
Styles>Edit Chicago 15th A, and then putting in the correct data into
Styles>the
Citations>Template section of that dialog.

Drop another note if you have problems making it work.

how to insert a whole mess of citations at once

We have a library that contains 1000 entries, which we want to output
into one Word file.

When I select all of the citations and then try to insert them, EndNote
responds saying that I can only insert 50 citations at a time.

How can I get all of these citations into one word file (that is,
without having to do this in lots of 50).

Many thanks.

Barbara

Chicago A formats citations only in footnotes, Chicago B only in text,
as specified in the Manual.

PubMed Central Import filter or Connection file

Has anyone developed a PubMed Central Import filter or Connection file
they are willing to share? I need to retrieve PMC ID's.

I use EndNote X1 (Mac & Windows), X (Mac & Windows), 9 (Windows).
