EN 8 and tiger

This is just a one time thing as far as I can see, but it's a nuisance if
you have a lot of preferences to reset.

Inoperable CWYW toolbar in Word 2003 and EndNote8

Please help:

My Actions:
I installed the full version of EndNote8.

In Word, Tools, Templates and Add-ins, I see
"Endnote8.Cwyw.dot" and "Endnote8.CwywWordXP.wll", and
I have checked them.

In Word, I used a Wizard to create a bibliographic
format.

I opened my Word document first and then EndNote, and
I see the EndNote toolbar, but it is inoperable. I
can click on any of the features, but none work.

I would greatly appreciate your suggestions for
getting the CWYW feature to work.

Thanks,
Susan Sanders

Re: copying text from one field to another

Can't you use select and then Control-C keystroke? That's what it would
be in MS word. I haven't tried it as I'm a new Endnote user, but you
could try it.

Anyone know of a way to COPY text from one field to another within a
given
library in Endnote 8? (I don't want to MOVE it because I want same
text in
both fields.)

Converted/Repair Data (again)

I have Mac OS 10.3.9 and Word for Mac 2004 on a G3 iBook laptop.

I have various libraries I've created in EN in order to separate

articles from books from DVDs, etc. I have been doing this with

previous versions of EN (6 & 7). Now that I've moved to 8, here's what

happens:

I have a library called Books Owned-Converted.enl If I open the library

to either add a book or check on something, and close it, I get two

folders on my desktop. One is called "Booknotes-Converted.Data" and the

other is called "Booknotes-ConvertedRepair Data" This happens with all

my libraries, and needless to say, my desktop becomes cluttered. Why is

this happening, and how do I make it stop?

Cordially,

Victor D. Padilla, Jr.

RE: cut-and-paste

Thanks, all. You have confirmed my worst fear. But at least I can move forward.

I wonder why EndNote doesn't have a direct import from the clipboard -- as in
copy or copy-shortcut followed by paste into EndNote. I am constantly running
into instances of bibtex fragments or ACM style pointers. It seems a shame to
have to go through all of the steps to create and import from a temporary file.

Oh, well...

Hi,

The method of importing records from the ACM Portal is slightly more
complicated than usual.

After you retrieve the web page you need to save the file as a text file
(.txt) and use a filter to import the reference into EndNote.

Complete instructions on how to do this are available from

theoretical chemistry accounts

Does anyone have a set of (word) templates and output styles that work with
current (or nearly current, 7.0) versions of endnote? The Springer ftp
site has a word template called svjour.dot, but it does not work with
endnote's manuscript template wizards, probably because it is too old (year
2000).
Thanks,
Steve

RE: moving citations inside a period

I can't see any other way to achieve this, unless you write a macro to
find .{ replace it (with "{"), then find the next } and replace it (with
"}."). This would avoid putting a full stop after a reference internal
to a sentence. Do it on a COPY, incase the whole thing goes pear shaped!

Subject: moving citations inside a period

I have asked this one before without receiving a response, but it has
come up again.

I am changing from a Vancouver style to the Harvard Style in a document.
That entails moving in-text citations inside the period throughout the
document.

Anyone have a good method of doing this? I think it is the one
operation that cannot be automated with EndNote. Somehow I might be
able to do a search and replace - but I could see all sorts of problems
with doing this.

Possibly an unformat and then replace ".{" With "}" and then replace
"{" with "}."

But am wondering if there is an easier way that is less susceptible to
