Regarding status of GtkExtra

Hello,

I have been using GtkExtra together with php-gtk2, and doing my
development I have had some problems with gtkextra such as bad memory
deallocation. I tried submitting a patch at

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1695966&group_id=11638&atid=111638
but no response it seems?

After that I have been creating other similar patches and added
functions, is the gtkextra project stille alive or ?

Thanks in advance

Best regards
Lars

Re: Regarding status of GtkExtra

Dear Lars,

I am, like yourself, an "ordinary" GtkExtra user, and I do believe
that the project is
alive, albeit too slow in its move these days. I browsed the source
code rep just now,
and the last change appeared to have been made as recently as three weeks ago.
This gives you a hint that the project is in CriticalButStableCondition. (TM)

Anyways, I, personally, would recommend that you wait until someone with
write-access finds a minute and looks at your patch. Also, I am wondering if
this would make sense to re-submit the patch via e-mail. This may or may not
be necessary. Just for added certainty.

I've seen people waiting for weeks, even months, before their patches were
validated. That's the saddest part. :(

Good luck,

Nickolai Dobrynin

Re: Regarding status of GtkExtra

I sent in (almost exactly) this patch about a year ago (6/8/06) by
email and Adrian fixed it in CVS. The email archive seems to be down
sadly.

I've had to make my own gtkextra and paste the source into my
application until this is released :-( not very satisfactory. Like
you, I've made a numberof other improvements too. Maybe we should
coordinate?

Ok I must admit I just downloaded the tar-ball, my mistake there. The
timestamp on the tarball and the status of the bug database on the
gtkextra sourceforge page I thought the project was dead for the time being.

I pasted an url to indicate when I had posted it instead of just writing
a timestamp in the email, should have done that instead maybe *shrug*

Maybe this indicates that the development team could use an extra hand ?
