RPM Package for fedora core 5

Dear friends,

I hope you can build and rpm for fedora core 5, Because after successfully installing libscigraphica, when I tried to install scigraphica it self I got the following error.

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lscigraphica-2.1
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [scigraphica] Error 1

Please try to solve this problem for me, so that I can use your software.

Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

Problems with Scigraphica 2.1

Hi to everybody,

I downloaded SciGraphica ten days ago from a French mirror in which
there was an rpm with version 2. After adding a few extra libraries, and
when I thought everything was ok, I executed SciGraphica for the first
time. I got two problems:

- At first there is an error related to numarray ("couldn't import
numarray").
- When I try to work with a Data Sheet, I got a "segmentation fault"
error and the program closes.

I am working with a MandrakeLinux 10.1 OS. Is there anybody who can help
me? Sorry, maybe I am just making a stupid mistake and I don't even know
that ...

Bye and thank you all!

ANNOUNCE: libscigraphica-2.1.1 released!

This is a fix for libscigraphica-2.0.pc that prevented scigraphica from
linking properly. My bad, I shouldn't rush without checking all the
packages.
Enjoy!

Help

Hello,

I've downloaded and installed the rpm
scigraphica-0.8.0-1suse80.i386.rpm, and also install the packages
python-numeric and python-gtk from SuSE9.0.
The installation went fine.

Then I ran scigraphica, however I got some errors that I don't really
know how to solve.

First, in the terminal where I launched scigraphica I get:

Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback

Second, in Python terminal (SciGraphica) I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 1, in ?
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'Unpickler'
 >>> ImportError: No module named gtk
ImportError: No module named Numeric

Could you please help me solve this problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,
H. Kachkachi

ANNOUNCE: Pre-release code in CVS

Hello everybody! Long time no see! For delight of the users, and
disappointment of the skeptics, gtkextra still is alive and kicking! It
is true that it took a while, but the code is practically ready. I only
need some feedback to test for bugs, and I will appreciate all your help.
The changes are many, and I will list the most important ones:

- gtkplot axes are GtkObjects, and you have to set the attributes with
the proper methods (check test programs and headers)
- gtkplot data arrays are also GtkObjects calles GtkPlotArray. Again,
check test programs.
- gtkplotcanvas items (rectangles, ellipse, arrow, pixmaps, text) are
also GtkObjects, take a look at testgtkplotcanvas.c
- added a new data style: gtkplotsegment, that draws lines joining two
points. Useful for drawing maps!
- UTF support for gtkextra-2 using pango (for some reason I'm still
having some trouble with the pango aliases, I will appreciate some help
here -- check testgtkfont)

These are the most important changes. The API will freeze after the
official release.
I will be waiting for your reports and questions and I will release as
soon as things converge.

As usual, the code is available from CVS. Tha packages are gtkextra and
gtkextra-2

Help: I will appreciate some help with the following topics:
- pango aliases: check testgtkfont, and tell me if you are able to
render the correct fonts. I doesn't work very well for me.
- automake-1.7. I haven't been able to do "make release", I guess
something is broken in the automake files.

Thanks you for you patience, and enjoy!
Saludos,
<ADRIAN>
