It's not that; it's just that I've set up 6 trac servers recently and

Desperately Seeking fpconst

twisted.web.soap requires SOAPpy; SOAPpy requires fpconst. fpconst is
alleged to be available from
http://www.analytics.washington.edu/statcomp/projects/testfolder/rzope/fpconst,
but the site is not responding.

Not a problem on my linux box, as Ubuntu has packages for all this
stuff. But I'd like to run a Windows test client for a SOAP server,
and right at the moment I can't because a needed software component is
missing in action.

Two requests: i) If anyone has a zip file containing fpconst, could
they email it to me or put it somewhere where I can get hold of it?
ii) Any chance of the twisted site mirroring fpconst?

thanks,
Dominic

You can find it in the openbsd distfiles.

fpconst is pure python. you should be able to use the ubuntu version.

Re: Import channel Problem

Thanks again David
and thanks for the welcome and introduction to the list.
I ended up trashing the previous web2 folder contents and replacing
it with the new svn download.
It works fine now.
Just a beginner - but it looks like fun.

trying to resolve half a decade of confusion

Itamar and I have written a page that attempts to explain the current situation in the Twisted Web World to
newcomers, both to reduce confusion and to drive people in the direction of the appropriate tools for
their problems.

The page is here:

   http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/wiki/WebDevelopmentWithTwisted

and we've prominently linked it from the front page and both the TwistedWeb and TwistedWeb2 pages.

integration of HTTP Basic Auth and cred

Hi.

I have written a small module for integrating HTTP Basic Auth and cred.
This is like guard.SessionWrapper.

I'm posting this module here because I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing.

Thanks and regards Manlio Perillo

I think it would help to have a list of problems with twisted.web (that
will be resolved in twisted.web2).

As far as I know:
- no persistent connections
- no compression
- problems with file upload
- ?
