Hi Pythoneers!

I could use your help in populating http://cms.wikia.com/ . We already have:

* http://cms.wikia.com/wiki/Django

* http://cms.wikia.com/wiki/Zope

And could use more information there? Got a favourite (or not-so-favourite)
Python (or whatever) CMS/frameworks etc.? Got a JavaScript library or
extension (see http://cms.wikia.com/wiki/JavaScript_Libraries ). Sign in to
Wikia and help populate the wiki.

Regards,

	Shlomi Fish

[pyweb-il:74] Re: Preferences for Meeting #3

I hope this link will work:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=peNpp-VpEhZvCF7TtAU0DAQ&hl=en

There is an interesting suggestion: Let people present what they are doing.
It think it will be nice, to give anyone who is willing to share his
work with us, about 10-15 minutes presentation time.

Hello,

I have appengine project and I would like to use nltk libraries.
Can someone give me a step by step instructions how to include nltk
libraries to my project in order to be able to do "import nltk" from
my appengine project?

Thanks, Alex Arshavski.

[pyweb-il:71] Re: import nltk libraries in appengine

Hi Alex,

Did you take a look at this page?
http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/purepython.html

"You can include other pure Python libraries with your application by
putting the code in your application directory. If you make a symbolic
link to a module's directory in your application directory, appcfg.py
will follow the link and include the module in your app."

There are some restrictions the imported lib must be obeyed.

[pyweb-il:75] Meeting #3. Preparation.

Hello,

So far we have 11 people that filled up the preferences form. The form is still online.
It seems that most of us want to meet at December for a mix of presentations and Django practice.
We are still looking for a venue.

There is a good idea from one of you: to let anybody to present his/(her?) Django work. My suggestion is to go for it.

Anybody who wish to present something in the coming meeting, please let me know. You can send mail to the group or directly to me. It can be one of the following:
1. Project/work presentation (about 10 minutes)
2. Django related presentation (about 30 minutes)
3. Practice. An two or three hours of an actual project that we can all work on together. (I believe this one should be discussed in the group in advanced.)
4. Any other idea?

Following that, I will try to integrate those responses and the answers within the form, to an interesting agenda.
Two of you made anonymous suggestions (illustrator project and django-lucene-search). Please help me identifying you! (if you want...)

Ahik

[pyweb-il:78] Question: how do we handle job-offers?

Why don't we decide on some guidelines for job offers on this group?

Do they have to be directly related to web-frameworks and/or python?

While the previous one seems to be related (web design/web publicity
is sometimes done by the same people who do the implementation), this
one seems to be less relevant (correlation between attended audience
and this group's participants might be higher than that of, say, home
gardening, or MS-Word users group, but surely lower than security or
sys-admin group). Where do we set the limit? (any IT jobs? web devs
only? Python webdev only?)

Second question is, do I (as python-IL moderator) allow these offers
to be auto-forwarded to the python-IL list?

Ari: if you specify the required skills in your message (e.g. if
requirements include python skills it would certainly point in favor
of allowing the forward).

[pyweb-il:79] Re: [pyweb-il:78] Question: how do we handle job-offers?

I say we auto-forward everything from pyweb-il, and trust its moderator(s) to filter such messages so that only relevant ones come through.

At least as long as its just a few e-mails a month, I think it's best not to delay messages because they're waiting for moderation. And less annoying moderation for you to do :)
