Re: latest enthought svn on Mac OS X

I think I have seen this problem before.  In my case it was related to 
trying to build inplace on different OSes using the same svn checkout 
directory.  Not running simultaneously on both OSes mind you. :-)

We need a better 'clean' step from our build tool.  Is the lack of ours 
related to not writing our build scripts properly or is it a lack of 
capability in distutils?

Both "rm -r build/" and "python setup.py clean" should have been fine. I don't
think either of these should be in the build_inplace scripts (and I wish they
wouldn't do what removing that they do; it's why I don't use them). If you want
to make a clean_all script, though, that would be fine.

Hmm, I can see how to fix it but the fix is a bit of a hack.  On the
interpreter drag the source and try this:

 d = _
 d.pipeline_changed = True

This fixes things but actually forces the entire downstream pipeline
to flush which is a bit much, but better slow and right than fast and
broken!  I'll check this in.  Please let me know if it fixes the
problem.

Sorry about the delayed response.  After a long while I was busy
hacking on my research code during the weekend.  Hopefully this week
I'll clean out my overflowing mailbox!

Not sure about the exact context of what you want.  If this has to do
with changing the .grad file then I think that is solved.  LUTManager
is really not a plugin.  It is an object in the mayavi2 model and the
way to script it is like so (for example):

 o = Outline()
 mayavi.add_module(o)
 lm = o.module_manager.scalar_lut_manager 

Now you can script `lm` the way you want.  If you need to get to the
`mayavi` instance from a script then you can always get it like so:

from enthought.mayavi.services import IMAYAVI
from enthought.envisage import get_application
app = get_application()
mv = app.get_service(IMAYAVI)

Yes.  Try this:

 i = _
 p =  i.ipw.texture_plane_property
 p.ambient = 0.0

This should make the ipw behave like most other modules w.r.t
lighting.

Hmm, it seems that does not fix the issue.
I still have the same figure as seen in snp3.png :-(
