Stylesheets in rst

Hi,

The last time I wrote, I discovered a lot of my fellow authors use RestructuredText as their format of choice. Can anyone tell me how they work with page templates or multiple stylesheets? I have a need where a few pages will have full page images with no margins and  then regular pages with normal text and normal margins.

I haven't been able to find any examples for this sort of thing. The people on the rst2pdf list say you can do it with just page templates, but they can't show me an example. According to the default stylesheet itself, it says you absolutely have to use multiple stylesheets.

Any tips on this sort of thing would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Python-authors Digest, Vol 26, Issue 2

Hi all,
I'm just about to put my first draft into some structure.
It's in markdown-ish.
I'd like to know more about the test scripts used.

What are people using?

Do you insert code an output into doc during make?
Or extract code out of markdown somehow to run and test?
Are you inserting the output into the doc?
Or comparing the real output with the output listed in markdown doc?

I know, ... So many questions.

Brian Okken

Python 101 - the book

Hi,

I've mentioned I'm working on a book on this list a few times. Well I've gotten over a dozen chapters written and I've started a Kickstarter for the project that I thought I'd share:

http://kck.st/1kX98BB

Authoring a book is a lot of fun and a lot of work. Thanks for all the help you all have given me!

Mike

P.S. I may ask more questions later!

Book advice

Hi,

I am currently working on a book and looking for some advice as I plan to self-publish. Here are a couple of my questions:

1) Do I need an ISBN/ASIN or both?
2) How do you recommend selling your books?

Thanks!

Mike

Book writing software

Hi,

I keep thinking I need to write a Python book and I think I'm finally ready to start. Can anyone tell me what software they recommend for writing the book in? I hate MS Word for writing long documents with markup, but I don't think Notepad++ really makes sense either.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for a writer

Hello fellow writers,

Some of you might have already heard and played with our project CheckiO.org - for novice coders it's an online code learning portal through experience exchange and code review, while for the hackers it's a platform for competing with artificial intelligence in Score Games and Competitions. As for now you can choose between Python 2.7 and 3.3 but we are expanding and going to connect interpreters for other languages in the future as more and more users join us.

We are writing to you because we are on the look out for a talented writer - somebody with excellent English skills, basic understanding of coding and some technical background. We will ask you to help us clean out already existing contents, as well as work together with us on the permanent basis on creating new tasks for the catalog, news editions and social netwrok updates.

We are a small and easy going team that works on a very interesting project being very passionate about spreading the idea of high quality hacker gaming. By becoming part of our team you will not just have fun time also great opportunities. If you are interested in this opportunity please drop us an email on liza <at> checkio.org.

Cheers,

CheckiO Team

post

Hi,  I was hoping you could make the following post:

Co-author needed to help finish writing a course on Python for beginners.

I wrote a free e-book that attracts up to 5,000 downloads per month and started to expand it into a one semester course. However, I have over-extended myself on too many projects and need some help finishing it.  The co-author will get credit and 50% of any sales. He/she needs to be skilled in the latest Python and should have some game making experience..at least with Pygame.  Contact:  worldwide-giKlXZhrs3s@public.gmane.orgm
