Refactoring for Ruby --- anyone know the state of this?

Ages ago I came across this http://rubypatterns.com/ and wondered
does anyone on this list (who may be or know one of the authors) know
if this effort is still continuing or what state it is at other than
what has been on this page (for sometime now) ?

Cheers
Shane

Re: Refactoring for Ruby --- anyone know the state of this?

I'm writing my monograph of graduate and it's related with ruby on rails and
refactoring.
This project http://rubypatterns.com/ seems very interesting. I've found
http://www.scribd.com/doc/396559/gof-patterns-in-ruby.

Keilla

Here is a link to a refactoring browser for Ruby -- I have not used
this, but it looks interesting.

Re: Refactoring for Ruby --- anyone know the state of this?

Just read about this product today in the Dr. Dobb's email newsletter. Getting good reviews from the likes
of Matz and DHH, apparently, but I haven't investigated enough to know whether the features extend all the
way to refactoring.

FreeRIDE contained RRB for a time, but then removed it, I believe for stability reasons?

Re: Refactoring for Ruby --- anyone know the state of this?

It's chugging along pretty well. They have a first draft of the book
together and it's going out for external review. This still means many
months before it's plastered on dead trees - usually takes me 9-12
months to get from first review to books on shelves.

Thanks for the update :-) At RailsConf, one of your fellow t-workers
said that Jay and co were still working on it ... I am looking forward
to seeing the variation in idioms used :-)

Thanks
Shane
