Introduction

Hi,
This is Zahra Naeem from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Lahore Pakistan. I am in my third year of Bachelors degree in Computer Science.

This is the first time I am participating in GSoC.
My GSoc project is "Synchronising Databases/tables" in phpmyadmin. For synchronisation we need to take two databases/tables and compare them for differences and allow user to apply changes from one to
another. You can visit my blog http://www.trackingchangesphp.blogspot.com/

I am looking forward to learn a lot from all you guys at GSoC.
Cheers!

Best Wishes,
Zahra

roadmap for 3.2

Hi,
Current trunk has some "small" new features and a number of patches. I
suggest going to 3.2.0-beta soon in order to stabilize this code.

This way, the Summer of Code stuff would go into 3.3. Opinions?

I agree, the changelog for 3.2 already contains a nice number of changes.

I agree to open up trunk to GSoC code as soon as possible, what means
to fork next stable release, because these features will need lot of
time to stabilize.

Translating documentation using po4a

Hi all

as I use quite a lot po4a for translating documentation for my other
projects and I thought it might be good idea to use it for translating
phpMyAdmin documentation as well.

It parses input files (in our case it would be xhtml) and creates po
files from the content, each paragraph is one translatable string. This
way translators can translate string per string and the structure of
document is automatically kept from original.

I imported current translation to this system and it is in svn. French
translation is okay, but the others are horribly outdated, so po4a does
not generate document from them (by default you need to translate at
least 80% to generate documents).

If there is interest, I can add it to my web based translation system
(https://l10n.cihar.com/), so that anybody will be able to translate
over the web.

Comments?
