Not usual. Only, when I add them for testing in my posts! :)

Re: Call for test: Comment system - II

Hi all!

I (hopefully) fixed the encountered bugs. I still get a weired behaviour
with htmlentities(), cause irregularly there occur "\n"'s, where only a
normal space is. Will check that tomorrow.

The environment is working so far, so further tests are welcome!

Thanks!
Toby

great stuff! Some comments:

* I submitted
http://zuhause.bei.tobias-schlitt.de:81/comments/view.php?id=61&insert=1
. However I was also able to have a look at
http://zuhause.bei.tobias-schlitt.de:81/comments/view.php?id=60&insert=1.,
for instance. Especially if an offensive comment is entered, it is a bad
idea (TM) to make this visible for the curious ones.
* There should separate input fields for email and name, like on
php.net/manual.
* I am also getting the \n's instead of spaces. Maybe adding
wrap="virtual" to the <textarea> helps, but honestly I am not sure, it
could also be an automatic breaking of long lines.
* Using <pre> on view.php is probably not a good idea (TM, again), since
in that case longer lines are not wrapped automatically (see id=61).

Best,
Christian

Net_NNTP does not work with PHP 5

Net_NNTP uses $this assignment which are not supported in PHP 5 and
  result in a fatal error.

Even with PHP 4 $this assignments should not be used since object
  identity changes are *bad*.

Volunteers != idiots
Those guys are turning a useful resource into something that wastes time and
bandwidth. I think we have waited enough now, it is time to act a little. If
they are not able to fix it, then they should consider giving more power to
people who have the time or the will to take care of it.

You are maybe interested in how to please your woman (viagra and stuff),
personally I don't need this. So this kind of spam is causing me immediate
trouble... It is also causing longer term problems to mail archives, search
engines, etc.

Right, these should be viewable only when logged in (as long as they aren't
approved). Will change that this evening.

Mhhh... AFAIK they only ask 1 thing.
<snip>Your email address (or name):</snip>
I'm very in favor of that, since people are not forced to submit their email
address.

Will have to dig deeper in that...

Because we are not php.net, but pear.php.net. ;)
