FrostWire 4.21.1?

Hello Packman packagers!

Would it be possible to package FrostWire 4.21.1 for opensuse? Right now on the packman repo, there is
version 4.20.6. With the latest version you can minimize to the tray, and they fixed a bug with the library
where you can play files without having to enque them first.

The RPM from their site doesn't work for opensuse. The .tar.gz works, but it does not provide a .desktop
file, associations, and it doesn't use the package management.

Thank you to all!

VLC in VideoLAN and Packman in openSUSE 11.3

Are there any differences between the vlc from the Packman repo compared to
the VideoLAN repo? And which would people recommend?

Thanks

Re: VLC in VideoLAN and Packman in openSUSE 11.3

VLC from VideoLAN repo is more up-to-date. There are even beta previews of VLC
in this repo. Next there is more up-to-date libva1 package and vdpau-video-
nvidia package required for HW decoding of h264 videos in VLC on nvidia cards.

PackMan VLC has more features enabled.

I'll speak for the people then ;-)

In any "normal" usecase you would probably never notice any difference. But
imho mixing Packman and Videolan repos presents an unnecessary risk of weird
little problems. Even though problems are smaller than they used to and
package manager vendor stickyness helps too.

Amaya does not show interface

Hi,

I have the following packages installed on openSUSE-11.3:

amaya-11.3.1-0.pm.7.1.i586
wxWidgets-2.8.10.1-2.pm.20.1.i586
wxWidgets-gl-2.8.10.1-2.pm.20.1.i586

When I execute amaya from Applications|Development|Design or /usr/bin/amaya, I
see /usr/bin/amaya and /usr/lib/Amaya/wx/bin/amaya_bin processes but the GUI
does not appear.

ldd shows no broken libraries and dmesg and /var/log/messages provide no clues
either.

I am running under KDE-4.4.4 with Desktop Effects and Compositing enabled but
disabling effects produces the same result. Direct Rendering is functional.
Graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9250.

I also have audactity installed from Packman and that works fine.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Neil Darlow

What features does PackMan enable that are not enabled by the author at
VideoLAN, which is the author's repo?

[PM] vlc 1.1.4.1-1.pm.1.1 (openSUSE 11.3/x86_64)

request - any chance of the phonon-backend-vlc being added? Amarok states
it's the best and only one being actively developed
http://forum.kde.org/trunk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=90394&p=171262&hilit=phonon+vlc#p171262
. There's one in Playground but if I understand correctly they remove all
non-free codec abilities.

thanks,

Gmane
