A little feature request

Hi Chart2 team,

I've been using 3.2.0 for a week or so, and I like several changes you've made.

In particular I like the "chart context menu" you've added to the formatting
toolbar. (Which I didn't even notice until I finally read your Changelog page
for chart2-3.2 on the OO website :)

My original request was going to be very complicated, but now that I've seen
the new chart context menu, my request is very simple:

Could you make the same context menu available in the Chart Wizard, perhaps
disguised by a button labeled "Advanced Formatting" or something similar?

I frequently create new charts with the Chart Wizard, but I always need to go
back and edit the chart after I create it because there are many chart features
that are not available in the Chart Wizard dialog when I create a new chart.

I don't think this would be too difficult to add, would it?

Thanks!

Re: Can OOo use svg clipart or chart symbols?

Hey Joe,

I can for some reason not see any thread nor the message body of your post
(I blame my newsreader/network/cache kind of stuff).

However, the svg issue is my favourite, so I'll answer nonetheless:

OpenOffice does not support embedding svgs. There is an "import filter"
that tries to convert them to OOdraw format (but obviously doesn't quite
match all the svg features). There is an issue in the issue tracker,
number 49991:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49991

You can go there and vote for the feature. I think this could use more
attention.

Cheers,

  Zak

Chart: Integration Candidate 1 of the chart reimplementation available for download

Hi all chart users,

A new developer snapshot of the ongoing chart reimplementation is
available for download on the chart website:
http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/chart.html

I would like to encourage you to again help with testing thus we can
assure to not introduce severe regression when replacing the old chart.
Just download, extract and start. As this is a developer snapshot build
it should not conflict with your normal OpenOffice.org version on your
computer.

Recently Fixed issues:
http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/recentlyfixed10.html

Testable areas: all except help content
http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/testableareas10.html

Installation hints: http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/readme10.html

Be aware that the current download is not an official productive version
but is only provided for testing and feedback purposes. So please don't
use it for regular work.

Many thanks to all those who already tested the previous versions! This
really helps a lot as more eyes detect much more problems.

Your help and feedback is very appreciated!

Thanks a lot,
