Ok. I think good if there was some basic php functionality. To make
comments or read databases. I think I'll write an issue. As for Wiki I
will try it as I liked the idea. When I was browsing through the
native-lang projects I found some are using Wiki and it feelt
comfortable and I also have got links to 2 usenet groups in Google in
the menu.

Thanks for your opinions and suggestions,
Best,
Konrad

oOO 2.0.1 de : OLE in MS-Office and oOO

Hello Team,

I'm moving nearby one Year from MS-Office to oOO and are satisfied.

Still some problems while using MS an oOO together storing in MS.DOC
format.

1. The most disturbing are OLE-Objects as embedded Table in Documents.

Starting Document working with MS-Office creates an XLS/MS-Table that
cannot when the document ist opened changed with oOO.

Starting Document working with oOO creates an oOO-Table that cannot
changed when the document ist opened with MS-Office.

May this Problem cannot be solved but you know a workaround, please let
me know about.

2. In Calc-Tables deleting a Cell-content always asks/pops the window
with checkboxes to delete content format a.s.o.
This is boring when you are working. I havn't found a configuration
checkbox to switch off this behavior, like for example "extras-options"
 >overwriting warning before insert data<
Überschreibwarnung beim Einfügen von Daten

Thanks for the appreciated work. Still I have to use MS-Office
sometimes, but me & you are strong working on don't mis it any more.

Principles regarding reduced features in new versions

Hi,

I have been using OOo for several years. In version 1 I really appreciated
the feature in Impress: the possibility to move an object along a curve.
This Impress-feature made it possible to visualize processes in a very
illustrative way.
It was a disappointment to discover that this feature was removed in version
2.

The questions are:
What is the policy regarding improvements and functionality in new
versions? The goal must be that new versions are experienced as
improvements in all fields.
Will the "object along a curve" feature come back in version 2.0.2?

This is the only disappointing experience I had with ver. 2.0.

Thanks

Have you tried options Tools|Options|Load/Save/Ms Office?
Maybe those can be of help for you.

The best idea would be to submit an issue in our bugtracking tool
Issuezilla. If you want to do so: please describe the problem more
detailed and exact, at best as a scenario that the qa and development
engineers can reproduce.

Searching for special characters

In Word, when doing a search replace, I could search for hard returns.
Is there a way to do this in Writer?

double trouble right here in river city

Well, it isn't really river city. That's some 65
miles away. But I have at least double trouble.

First, I've installed 2.0 on my computer (the 2nd
newest on the lan I claim to administer, 5 machines, a
switch, a router and a dsl modem cabled together.)
Various machines have been added, principally when
older ones died. One remains with Windows 98, two
have Windows xp professional, and one xp home edition.
My machine (well they are all mine, actually, but
this one that I mostly use)has some instabilities.
Mostly the error messages when it crashes relate to a
problem with firefox, or a device driver that makes
for a conflict. But OOo 2 sometimes crashes when I am
not using firefox, even when I'm careful not to work
too quickly. Recovery works well, but I'm scared when
the machine reboots suddenly.
I some time ago installed 1.5 on my secretaries
machine, also running XP, and she can open files on
this one without difficulty. Well there is some
difficulty. After she opens an openoffice document
from my computer, 1.5 crashes on her machine.
On the 98 machine I've run a shortcut to 1.5 on my
secretary's computer, and can access files all over
the lan, but get an error message when I try to save
edited work opened elsewhere.
And, finally, I've installed a 2.2 version of Linux on
an older machine hooked to the lan, and have
downloaded 1.5 to it; but have tried to follow all the
instructions as to how to install it, but have not yet

I think this question was already answered, the answer is yes. The how
well I will need to rescue that mail, but AFAIK you can use regular
expressions to find that, such as \n for end of line.

I will look on the archieves of this mailing list since this was responded
recently (1 week ago).
