16:10 lcd form factor is dead. Unfortunately..., the current from factor is
16:9.
Please, update the bug request accordingly. Unfortunately..., 16:9 is not going
to change any time soon.

        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Read Error no a WinWord97 file
    Classification: Application
           Product: Word processor
           Version: OOO330m20
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: open-import

        ReportedBy: tracey002 <at> openoffice.org
         QAContact: issues <at> sw.openoffice.org

I am unable to open [GC0165 Update.doc] with oo330m20.
I get the following error message before oo/sWriter closes/crashes (soffice.bin
and soffice.exe remain loaded although the app disappears from view):
Title: OpenOffice.org 3.3
Read-Error.
This is not a WinWord97 file.

I can (and have always been able) open it with oo320m18 as well with
WordPerfect and WordViewer.

Please advise.
Thanks, Tracey

[sw-issues] [Bug 118120] New: Full-width text area view

http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=118120

        Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT
           Summary: Full-width text area view
    Classification: Application
           Product: Word processor
           Version: OOo 3.3
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: viewing
        AssignedTo: writerneedsconfirm <at> openoffice.org
        ReportedBy: dotancohen <at> openoffice.org
         QAContact: issues <at> sw.openoffice.org

A common usage scenario is to place two documents side by side in two Writer
windows. The problem with this is that the document becomes too small: a
workaround is to zoom, remove rulers, and use Web Layout. However in some
documents the layout is very important, and therefore Web Layout cannot be
used.

I propose a new view mode in which the rulers and page margins are not shown,
and the editable part of the page is automatically zoomed to the full width of
the non-chrome Writer window.

Thanks.

[dba-issues] [Bug 118121] New: Sorting function doesn't work properly on concation fields

http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=118121

        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Sorting function doesn't work properly on concation
                    fields
    Classification: Application
           Product: Database access
           Version: OOo 3.2.1 RC2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP

        ReportedBy: stani <at> openoffice.org
         QAContact: issues <at> dba.openoffice.org

In all higher versions than 3.1.1 sorting function doesnt seem to work properly
on concation fields, when a form element is filled using a corresponding SQL
command.

Details:
- a table control element is used in a form
- the form uses a ODBC-connection as a data source (the problem remains also
with the native MYSQL connector)
- one of the fields in the SQL command (as a content type)is defined as
following:

<...> CONCAT( IFNULL(`firma`.`firma`,''), ' ', IFNULL(`firma`.`firma1`,''), '

[sw-issues] [Bug 118122] New: Update styles when text is formatted

http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=118122

        Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT
Summary: Update styles when text is formatted
    Classification: Application
           Product: Word processor
           Version: OOo 3.3
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: formatting
        AssignedTo: writerneedsconfirm <at> openoffice.org
        ReportedBy: dotancohen <at> openoffice.org
         QAContact: issues <at> sw.openoffice.org

When a user changes the formatting of text, it would be helpful if Writer were
to offer a method to update the style, not just the particular selected text.
This would help promote the proper use of styling documents, and would be a
terrific usability enhancement.

The feature could be implemented as a toolbar[1] that pops up when the change
is made, much as the Bullets and Numbering toolbar pops up when the user
initiates a list. This would be unobtrusive yet informative to the user. Of
course, a keyboard shortcut should also be available.

Caveats:
1) It might be preferable to initiate this feature only when an entire area of
a style is selected, not for small portions.
