Multizilla: New Feedback from Ivan

http://multizilla.mozdev.org/wishlist.html#140

A month ago, I realy liked MultiZilla, but the new tab alignment (first one left, second one right instead of
first one left, second one behind the first one) makes me think of not using your program anymore. I wish
there were an option to change this behavoir.

(Sorry for my english ;-) )

I also had that behaviour some time ago but it went away after I
installed a new MultiZilla version (don't know exactly which, currently
I'm using the latest one for 1.4x builds: 1.4.0.4). But still MultiZilla
takes control over the placement of the first tab which can be seen when
using the aquaMOZ theme (http://www.fiftysecondstreet.net/aquamoz/)
which places tabs in the center without MultiZilla - with MZ installed,
the very first tab is on the left, the others in the center (closing all
tabs and reopening new ones in an existing browser window "restores"
expected behaviour). Don't know if this is a special problem of this
theme or if it's MZ though...

Mac OS X install

Hello-
I have grown to love what multizilla does, unfortunately, I cant get it
to install on Mozilla 1.3 or 1.4 on Mac OS X!! I have tried both the
auto install and the download install. In Moz 1.3, I click on the link,
and it just reloads the page. On Moz 1.4a and the 20030505 nightly
build, the 1.4.0.4a package attempts to load, but comes back saying the
package is invalid. I checked the obvious, and yes software install is
turned on. I checked bugzilla, and didnt see anything obvious.

Help!!!

Thanks,
Ryan

Quick prefs open preference editor switch
multizilla.goooglebox.search-engine to google should work...
you may also upgrade to Mozilla 1.3f or 1.4 beta and multizilla to the
proper version 1.4.03h for 1.3 or 1.4.0.4 nightly for 1.4 beta or nightlies.
Anyhow, i bet you can upgrade to googlebox 1.0 and then you can change
it in preference window

Alas Ivan cannot see our answer as he is not a suscriber of the
multizilla list. The installation page is clear enough though. Maybe the
yellow on red warning is not flashing enough... should it be possible to
launch 1.4.0.4 ? Jens, could you tell more about this behavior ? For
Ivan : The problem is not with multizilla but with Mozilla wich changed.
1.4.0.3 is only valid for builds *before* 24/03/03 Mozilla builds.

OK, I checked and it was blank. I tried changing it to:

google
www.google.com
http://www.google.com
http://www.google.com/search
www.netscape.com
thisiscrap.net

No matter what I change it to, it goes to "http://www.search.com/" for
example I do a search on "google" and this is where it goes
"http://www.search.com/?sourceid=mozclient&q=google" which is the C/Net
search page with lots of ads, graphics, all that sh*t (I'm on 28K dialup
and don't like all that stuff, takes 13 secs to even start to show up on
my system) and I don't do C/Net as they are microsoft lovers.

I tried disabling Googlebox and re-enabling it. I tried "remember last
used search engine" and going to google. I tried clicking on Google
Homepage then typing in Googlebox. Everytime and everything sends me to
the search engine I WILL NEVER USE C/Net.

Re: Googlebox suddenly not using google, using stupid cnet search

In case it helps, I have the following Googlebox prefs (using prefs
editor) set (with Googlebox 1.0e):

multizilla.googlebox.combined-default: search
multizilla.googlebox.entry-width: 0
multizilla.googlebox.remember-combined: false
multizilla.googlebox.search-engine: http://www.google.com
multizilla.googlebox.start-query: 0
