Request for Google Box

Since Multizilla and the Googlebox both work nicely on the OS/2 builds of Mozilla as 
well, thanks to IBM's Mike Kaply and his team, we OS/2er are the only major OS *not* 
available in the specialised software search area.

Would you therefore please add an entry and the according stuff behind the scenes for 
performing OS/2 related searches as well?

It's already frustrating enough, that most people think, that we are surfing the web 
with a dead OS, but it isn't. OS/2 is awake and well

HJ and Rajnish,

I have a small proposial to the last part of the installation process of both, 
Multizilla and Googlebox.
I think it would be very helpful for the first time user of both add-ons, if an 
additional alert box would pop up after the 'Software Installation' box showed its 
'Success' message, to tell him, that he now should restart his browser, to actually 
make the add-on work.
This probably is most important, when the installation was made locally from HDD with 
the previously
downloaded xpi-file.

Here is the excerpt out of Preferentials Install.js file, that does just this after 
one pressed the 'OK' button in the 'Software Installation' success message box.

After the Mozilla toolbars now finally got their Grppies back,what a relief, what 
about also adding a Grippy to the Multizilla Toolbar for frequent, fast, direct access?
Would save to move the hand from the mouse to the keyboard and back or digging 
through the View submenu structure.

The MultiZilla toolbar isn't a real toolbar and never had a grippy. 
Also, we have F12, so why don't you use it?

To do the existing specific searches, Googlebox makes use of Google's 
own specific searche features (see 
http://www.google.com/options/specialsearches.html).  To do a special 
OS/2 search, you'd first have to lobby Google to make such a search 
available.

This sounds like a good idea to me.  Actually, the XPI box itself 
should probably do this, but until it does, I think that we should do 
this.  I'll make the necessary changes to the installer and upload 
back to CVS.

Preference Editor

I like the idea of the Preference Editor, but have a question about it.
Since all of the documentation I've seen so far recommends making
alterations to user.js and not prefs.js, I'm curious.

If I make a change in a preference using the Preference Editor, is it
written to prefs.js or user.js?

prefs.js, no restart needed!

prefs.js - All your settings. Enter about:config in the URL bar for more 
information.

user.js - User setting which will be written into prefs.js after Mozilla 
is started
