Bookmarks opening into new tabs

Hello all,

A long time ago, when using SeaMonkey 1.1.19 altogether with the
Multizilla extension,
it was possible to open bookmarks directly into a new tab, without
affecting any
previously opened tabs.

Is there there any add-on or configuration which can maintain this behaviour
in Seamonkey 2.8 ?

Thanks,

Rubens

Alternate Plugins

Well, I will make the switch to Seamonkey 2.x

I have been browsing through the available plugins to try to mimic the
multizilla functionality. I have found some, but I am afraid of
creating conflicts.

Does anyone have a list of plugins which work together?

Open Source?

Since this is not being updated anymore, could it be put into Source
Forge?

Cannot rename tabs

Hello,

I cannot rename tabs in the Tab Manaber because the
"Save Changes" button in the Tab properties window
appears grayed out.

I am using SeaMonkey 1.1.19 and the latest version of Multizilla.

Can anybody help ?

Thanks,

Opening new tabs with Ctrl-Click

Hello,

I noticed the function of opening links in tabs instead of new windows
by Ctrl-clicking is no longer working.

I have checked all configurations and they seem to remain the same
I have always used.

I am sure that at least until Seamonkey 1.1.4 this function used to work.

Now I am using Seamonkey 1.1.9 and Multizilla 1.8.3.4e.

Is there something I can do or check ?

Thanks,

Rubens

So is this officially dead?

Is multizilla officially dead?
Site hasn't been updated in over a year, and next to nothing in newsgroup.

Split Screen

I know that development is kind of off the burner right now, but a
really neat feature would be the ability to place two tabs side by
side.

So you have multiple tabs open, and you take one and drag it down and
to one side (or bottom) and the screen splits and you have two tabs
open and visible at the same time.

And I am another one still at the 1.x level...

Unread messages count in Multizilla newsgroup

Hello all,

I did notice a misterious glitch using SeaMonkey to read this newsgroup:

Upon open SeaMonkey´s newsreader, an "unread" messages count is
displayed at the right of the newsgroup name in Seamonkey´s left pane,
even if I have already read all the messages received up to that moment.

That count number disappears as soon as I click in any of message headers
displayed at the right pane.

Initially I have thought that could be a Seamonkey´s bug, but that happens
only for this newsgroup, and unsubscribing and subscribing again to this
newsgroup
does not help, even deleting

May that be caused by some slightly different configuration this
newsgroup has
in the news server ?

New MultiZIlla version in the make

Just to let people know:

I have exams next year, and I won't like to fail, so that is why I
personally don't have time for MultiZilla development anymore. Other
things have popped up taking my free time.

And dad started to work with Apple, which changed everything. And we at
home are still using MultiZilla so one day soon again dad will have to
step in and fix things. He is however just trying to enjoy life, as all
you have done/are doing but this is something he never got the time for
so give him a little time and who knows ;)

Take care,

Michael

Multizilla and SeaMonkey 2

OK boys and girls, I've tested this so I know it works.

You need to "download" _MultiZilla v1.9.0.1a (for
SuiteRunner builds only)_ from here:
http://multizilla.mozdev.org/installation/installation.html.

Now, you use a zip program and unzip the files and
directories. There are 3 directories [chrome,
components, and defaults] and one file [install.rdf].
Open install.rdf and look for the line:

em:maxVersion="2.0apre1" />

once found, re-do that line to:

em:maxVersion="2.1" />

save the file and re-zip everything back in the same
order. There done. Now its ready to be installed. And
when its installed, you gain access to the settings and
that under the Addons Manager window.

If you want to take it a step further, and you want all
your old settings from SM 1, then after you install it,
close SM 2, open the file prefs.js from the SM 1
profile. Do a search for:

user_pref("multizilla

when you look there, there should be a ton of entries

Seamonkey 2.0 Final is out

Well, Seamonkey 2 is out, I decided that this was the right moment to
migrate and here I am, newly Multizilla-orphan. Until and unless a
SM2-compatible version of Multizilla hits the servers, I'll have to make
do with a mishmash of other extensions.

In most cases, Multizilla is nice to have but I can do without it... but
not always. Some of the MZ features really make a difference. And I have
just hit my first snag of this kind...

Per-sender permissions in Mail. Multizilla allows one to block
downloading images and other non-embedded stuff from the Web while
allowing specific senders. This means that I can let some legitimate
newsletters to send me rich email, while blocking all the spammers.
Vanilla Seamonkey does not include this kind of funcionality: it allows
you to view mails as "original HTML" (with all images), "basic HTML"
(simplified formatting, does not download images) and "plain text." But
the setting is system-wide.

Does anybody know of a Thunderbird extension with similar functionality?

(Multizilla allows granular permissions for a lot of stuff... I'm
looking at NoScript to replace the per-site Javascript permissions
funcionality in MZ...)
