consider it done.

now, hopefully, i will no longer see this trivial thread appearing and
no longer have to delete it.

as for you blaming Chris Ilias for your being restricted/censored, or
what ever you wish to call it, it is of your own fault.

you were warned. guide lines link were pointed out to you. yet, for your
own hard headed reason, you continued.

Oh I see now. You meant you set the follow up. Thanks for your vagueness... It's much appreciated.

Obviously you are unaware of the full details. Why don't you let Andrew
explain why he was banned instead of making unfounded accusations. You
know, each side has a story, let him explain his side. I know the story
fully and why, but it is not my position to explain altho I completely
disagree with the reason.

Is this now Egypt?

OK, this is weird... Here I am in mozilla.general, normally the only group on this server that I can post to without having my post automatically removed and I see a response from Jay Garcia to the "FF fails where Chrome succeeds" and his post was removed:

Error!

newsgroup server responded:no such article in group

Perhaps the article has expired

<fa2dnYThAcL6vdfQnZ2dnUVZ_hOdnZ2d <at> mozilla.org> (28688)

Click here to remove all expired articles

Maybe this post will explode too! Who knows. It's like we're in Egypt where the non-benevolent dictator can and will take swipes at people randomly...

I would say 'hidden' (or expired). It is much easier to hide messages
(change their accessibility) on a news server than 'remove' them. Gmane
has a useful discussion about how it goes about expiring messages (with
expiry headers) by hiding them rather than removing them.

> newsgroup server responded:*no such article in group*

That message must have been obtained by your seeing the message header
and then clicking on it to display it. That message's header does not
show up in my Tbird or OE in either .general or firefox support, which
is how it was crossposted (without f/up to .general).

> Perhaps the article has expired

> <fa2dnYThAcL6vdfQnZ2dnUVZ_hOdnZ2d <at> mozilla.org> (28688)

OE has much better ability to access a message by mid than does Tbird.
And GG's ability to access a message by mid is extremely deprecated
compared to how it was in 'the old days'. For example, I can't get that
message from GG by using the MID; however/altho' GG has it.

I'm not going to post the GG link to the message because I don't think
that the moderation should be 'defeated'. I accept the moderation as is.
Jay didn't say anything in the message to be discussed anyway.

Maybe it was 'deleted' (hidden/expired) because it was crossposted to a
firefox support group in addition to .general.

> Click here to remove all expired articles
> <news://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.general?list-ids>

That functions to clean up your view to keep you from clicking on the
message header which message is not available to be viewed.

I would say that the moderator doesn't feel that discussing moderation
is appropriate - especially in a support group; a concept with which I
agree even tho' some others here don't.

The post that I made was in the Firefox support group in response to "g"
and was supposed to be moved to .general.

Now, let me say this FOR THE RECORD. My wife, retired attorney, is
writing a request for information letter to The Mozilla Foundation that
will be addressing the cancellation of posts, OT or otherwise. The
actual contents are between her and the mozilla legal team. I will NOT
stand by and have my, or anyone elses rights trampled on. Altho, this
server is owned and operated by "Mozilla", it is NOT a "private" server
simply because users do not need authorization or authentication to post
to it. Therefore it is a "public" medium which interestingly anyone that
wishes, can post via the Google Groups, OT posts and so on and NOT fall
under ANY of the so-called guidelines/rules, etc.

If you will use the classic/old GG instead of the new GG, during the
reply you can set f/ups. I think that might also solve your problem with
no references header.

Also, when you use GG you tend to not cite because citing isn't the
default in the new GG.

With the old/classic GG it is possible to reply to a message just like
with an nntp newsreader with citing and trimming and posting
inline/conversationally instead of top untrimmed or bottom untrimmed.

I was just experimenting with old vs new GG and when I went into new GG
I was having a hard time getting back to the old GG, so I will have to
research how to do that easily.

See what I mean ????? My post in support.firefox was cancelled even
tho the followup was set to here as witnessed by the post above. Sorry
Mozilla, this is NOT gonna fly!! If the f'up wasn't set the please
explain how else my reply made it here to .general??

Supposed to be moved?

It looked to me like it was simply crossposted to fx & general.

One could make a 'graceful' transition from a thread in firefox by
replying to a firefox message and including general as a crosspost and
then with f/ups to general.

I just made an 'abrupt' transition from firefox by replying to a firefox
message and changing the newsgroup to general - in that case because the
message I was replying had nothing to do with firefox anyway and because
it was a reply 'specifically' to Andrew and I knew he was over here.
