date and time format in Mozilla Mail window

Hi,

Easy question -- how one changes the format of the "Date" column in the
standard 3-paned Mozilla Mail window? I used to have the default date &
time configuration (e.g., 03/18/2004 10:31 PM), but now it seems to have
shifted over to the 24-hour time system and displays dates as dd/mm/yy
(so 03/18/04 22:31)?? I haven't played around w/ Mozilla settings today,
so I'm not sure what happened... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Cameron

In addition to the other comments you've gotten, you could try writing a
plugin to do just this. (As far as I know none currently exists).

Hijackthis works wonders if you know which entries to remove.
Fortunately it creates a backup. I've submitted a Hijackthis log to
Cexx, but it looks clean. Comcast.net appears to load very quickly but
if you look closely it takes a while for a file or two...usually an
image file...to fully load. After signing in the page reloads and
clicking on a link during this time results in a redirect to a
commercial site. Making sure the page has completely reloaded seems to
get rid of the problem. This is NOT a problem with IE at any time,
even if the page isn't fully loaded.

Right click - save as?

In Explorer you have the option of right click on a link to save as.

Is this option available in Firefox 0.9.3 ?

I know you can edit the download setting to save as but then you loose the
option to open with.
It's the only thing I miss about Explorer.
Looked thru the extensions but can't see one unless I've missed it

John,

Do you mean saving a shortcut to the web page?

If so, there is an extension called deskCut which adds this facility to the
right-click menu.

CVS errors with cygwin

I'm trying to checkout the source tree from CVS using cygwin on a
Windows XP system. I log into CVS ok, and obtain the client.mk file,
but then when I run make -f client.mk checkout, I get these errors:

/usr/bin/cat: 2: No such file or directory
make.exe: client.mk:163: pipe: No such file or directory (ENOENT)
client.mk:170: /home/Colin/mozilla/.mozconfig.mk: No such file or
directory (ENOENT)
client.mk:171: /home/Colin/mozilla/build/unix/modules.mk: No such file
or directory (ENOENT)
make.exe: *** No rule to make target
`/home/Colin/mozilla/build/unix/modules.mk'. Stop.

Any ideas?

Re: date and time format in Mozilla Mail window

Sorry folks,

Please disregard my earlier email (below).
I just discovered that both this problem with Date & time formatting in
Mozilla Mail and a noticeably degraded appearance of fonts in Mozilla
(independent of selected character coding) were a screwy side-effect of
installing new fontconfig RPMs... as part of getting Gimp 2.0 to work on
a RH9 box. Reverting to my earlier fontconfig packages resolved it. I
can understand the different font appearance, but fontconfig-induced
reformatting of the Date still baffles me...

When you right-click a link, there is an option called "Save Link As..."
Is this not doing what you want?
