Wmlbrowser 0.6.9.2 released (Firefox 1.5 compatibility)

Hello,

   wmlbrowser 0.6.9.2 has been released. It is intended to address
compatibility with the Firefox 1.5 releases.

   There are no other bug-fixes, so if you're still using Firefox 1.0,
there's no real reason to upgrade.

   I currently know about one problem with the extension on 1.5: 'Help'
links in the 'Options' window don't work.

   Firefox users should be able to pick up the upgrade automatically.

   Please report any problems via bugzilla or to this mailing list.

Thanks,

Matthew

wml browser and jsp incompatibility issue

Hi,
    I am a wap site developer. I really enjoy to use the wml browser. However I discover a problem here. Below is the some of the code that i implement:

<anchor>Submit
        <go method="post" href="test.jsp">
        <postfield name="txtPassword" value="$passwd"/>
       </go>
</anchor>

The problem is that, the word "Submit" never appear as a link when i save the file with .jsp extension. The "Submit" only become clickable when I save the source file with extension .wml. Therefore I would like to ask, how can this problem be fix.

Regard
Wei Khong

Re: wml browser and jsp incompatibility issue

Hi,

This probably isn't really the list for such questions, but I will point
you towards the yahoo group "wmlprogramming", which is more suited for
those programatically creating WML pages.

As far as I'm aware, the wmlbrowser is not sensitive to the name of a
file, but will be sensitive to the content type of the page. Are you
sure that you're sending the correct content type, and not text/html
(which is the default for jsp in some servlet containers -- in others
it's text/plain)? It is also worthwhile checking that the page validates
as wml according to the w3c (www.w3c.org).

Re: wml browser and jsp incompatibility issue

Hi,
Actually I am using wmbrowser as one of my testing tools in my development. However the code work when I try it out on a real mobile phone(even work for a very first stage phone model of GPRS). And I also already set the content type to text/vnd.wap.wml. Therefore I don think it causing by the content type.

I have to admit that I didn't try this version with Mozilla, but I
shouldn't have changed anything which broke it.

Which user were you when you installed the browser? And which user were
you running the browser as when you installed the extension?

If you installed Mozilla as root, then you will need to be running as
root when you try to install wmlbrowser.

wmlbrowser on mozilla.com

Hi,

Some little remarks about wmlbrowser on mozilla.com:
If you search the keyword wap on
https://addons.mozilla.org/?application=firefox you don't find
anything concerning wmlbrowser but you get this page:
https://addons.mozilla.org/quicksearch.php?q=wap&section=A
The wml keyword works well, but IMHO the average dude is more likely to use WAP.
Maybe it should be added as a keyword.... Also, what about a new name
for wmlbrowser? I think to wapzilla, which seems more explicit to me,
and is inspired by chatzilla, of course.

Also, the current version you get from the extension room is still the
0.6.8. Is this normal, or is an update necessary? I'd think these
updates were managed automagically between mozdev and mozilla.com.

Sincerely.

Gmane
