Problem creating language pack

Hi everybody,

I am trying to create a language pack for the ro_RO locale. I ran the
final command:

--- cut here ---
cristi <at> hades:~/dev/enigmail/ui/locale/en-US$ ./make-lang.sh ro-RO 0.95.5
--- end here ---

But when I try to install the xpi, Thunderbird shows the following error:

--- cut here ---
"Enigmail ro-RO" could not be installed because of an error in its
Install Manifest ("{847b3a00-7bf-11d4-8f02-006008948af5}" is not a
valid GUID). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.
--- end here ---

I use Ubuntu Gutsy, Thunderbird version 2.0.0.6 (20071022), Enigmail
version 0.95.5 (20071027).

What can I do to successfully create this language pack?

The problem is with the awk interpreter that ships with Ubuntu, "mawk".
(actually, it's a standards interpretation confict). Replace it with Gnu
awk and you should be able to build a good XPI. More information here:

Thanks. That solved the problem.

Could you tell me, what is the language-pack addition policy? Do I
have to convince somewhat to review my translation? Or do I simply
submit it, staying beta for some time, and in case nobody objects, it
will become official?

Re: Problem creating language pack

Hi Cristian,

great to hear Enigmail has been translated to another language.
Thank you VERY MUCH for your effort.

> Could you tell me, what is the language-pack addition policy?

Please send the XPI to Patrick and me. I'll upload it to the language
pack page and Patrick will include it in future releases.

Please tell me which Email address to mention on the language pack
page.

Dear all,
I am new to computers. Using the Firefox and Thunderbird with OpenPGP
and S/MIME installed. _But don't know how to use these two later
applications_. :-( My system is Windows Vista.
May you please help?
Thanks advanced,
With regards,

Hi Bipin,

since this is a mailing list focussed on Enigmail, I will tell nothing about
Firefox, not S/MIME - address the Thunderbird portal for that. Concerning
Enigmail, it implements the OpenPGP standard as AddOn for Thunderbird. Since
you said you already installed it, you may want to read on here (in that order):

Signature checks fails so often

Hi everybody
I am using Enigmail 0.95.5 and very often the signature attached to
messages are not valid. This is quite a bit annoying because I have
to re send the message to the recipient.

How can I solve this?

Should you need more info just ask.

Thanks for your time

I forgot to say I have a dsa2 key 2048b long and in my preference I
have set up SHA256.

Thanks for your time

Hi,

I don't really know exactly how to solve your problem, but I suggest
you take a look at the OpenPGP console. (OpenPGP -> Debug OpenPGP ->
View Console).

the sig of this message of yours verifies fine here. How do you notice
that it doesn't verify OK? There are (rare) MTAs out there that fiddle
with white space or wrapping leading to invalid sigs but this should
be reproducible and depend on the relay and/or the destination server.
