Open external Links in New Tab?

Is this possible?  I've been trying to get it to work in Moz 1.5b and 
having no luck.

Anyone have any issues or notice that newsgroup performance can be slow. 
  I find that it can take a bit to get the groups to load while changing 
from one group to the next.

My default page of mozialla is http://www.mozilla.org/start/ and on that 
  page there is not all products of mozilla.org. I have change my home 
page :)

Better question... is there a way to installer media player so it works 
with any OS X browser other than IE.
