Writing a Zodiac calendar in Sunbird?

I noticed that the Sunbird Calendar window allows me to maintain more than
one calendar and click on a "calendars" list to switch between them.

Is there a way to define a calendar with different names of the months and
start/end dates, e.g. "Capricorn" etc.?

It is not an option for users in current versions. You could code it as
an extension.

However, the calendars list allows you to select more than one calendar,
so that you can work with a schedule containing data from more than one
place. It would be difficult to overlay calendars in a meaningful way
when their months are different.

Perhaps it would be better to add Zodiac information at the top of each
view, separate from the calendar data.

At the moment, 80% or so of the Calendar code is written in JavaScript
and XUL...

Lightning 0.1 has been released

[Followups redirected to mozilla.support.calendar]

http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Lightning:0.1:Release_Notes has
details and download instructions. Thanks to everyone who has helped
out with coding, testing, documenting, etc. For those who have been
trying out the release candidates, this is the same as RC2, so if you
already have that, there's no need to re-download.

Lightning 0.1 - first impressions

Really great effort, look forward to using it a work tool.

first impressions ..
(a.) needs better utilization of tree pane.  Actually not issue with Lightning itself.  Large impact on users with complex folders, multiple mailboxes - if this window area is halved (looking at alternatives).
(b.) right / left arrows are repositioned due to length of month-title, particularly left arrow.  If user tries click, click, click ..  they can lose focus and miss.
(c.) click (or right-click) on view-title, eg. 'March 2006', should lead to dialog for 'GoTo': with fields (for year, month, day); quick select week/month/year for next, prev buttons; as well as 'Go to today', week nn, etc.  Otherwise buttons too cumbersome for large interval.  ie. Sep. '08
(d.) colour shading for public holidays, regional, and special (red-letter) days would greatly enhance views.  Although this would still have to be 'standard' in the iCal files.

Certainly an issue if you are also using the Contacts Sidebar [1]
extension. This extension also adds a sidebar to the tree pane. Maybe it
would be a nice idea if extensions could share this place, by adding
extra tabs or some other method. Also a possibility to hide this sidebar
would be a good idea.

A workaround is discussed in the forum, but I have no idea how it
interacts with other extensions:

proposed IRC planning meeting

A little while ago, there was an IRC meeting between a bunch of folks
working on Mozilla calendar-related stuff. The consensus then was that
some regular, open communication meetings to help keep folks coordinated
would be a good thing. Now that Lightning 0.1 has shipped, I'd like to
propose that we have the first of those meetings on IRC on Thursday,
March 30th, at 9:00 AM PDT (16:00 UTC).

If folks could followup to this post to try and reach some consensus
about whether that's a workable time for most people, or, if not, what a
better time and date would be. I'm just about to head out for a week's
vacation, so I won't be around to participate in that discussion, but my
schedule is pretty flexible, so I should be able to arrange to
participate at whatever time is chosen.

When I return from vacation (the week of March 27th), I'll post a
summary of the stuff discussed at the last meeting as well as a proposed
agenda for the upcoming one.

Is anybody working on this or is there any workaround?
