using remote calendars

Where can I find more info on setting up and using remote calendar with
Mozilla ?

Is there a walkthrough or a white paper anywhere ?

event alarm from address book

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is any way to enter a birthday/anniversary
event for a contact in the address book and trigger an alarm when the
event occurs. I know that this event can be done using Mozilla's
calendar. But I was wondering if there is a way to do it directly
from the address book without the need for entering the same data
into my calendar.

Thank you all in advance for any suggestions and tips.

Not possible at the moment, there is a request for enhancement in
bugzilla though: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151994

A related RFE (count occurences of an event):

As long as they remain extensions that can be disabled by the choice of individual
users I'll remain happy with Thunderbird d-:

Re: MozCalTray Beta 1 Finished

Beta 1 is officially finished so now I need beta testers =) You will be able to download the software from my website, however, Im still waiting for the dns server to update with my new subdomain. It should be ready in a few hours at which time I will post the site address here.
Some comments:
  1. Support multiple Calendar Files (.ics). I have more than one but MozCalTray only has space for one.
  2. What does this thing do once it's in the tray? I ask because once it's there there is no apparent way to communicate with it! Right click on the tray icon does nothing and neither does left clicking. Can't exit it nor change it's configuration. I'm on Windows XP.
  3. Thinking that I installed something wrong I attempted to install the required Visual Basic stuff. Upon installing thew Visual Basic 6.0 runtime I got "INF Install failure. Reason: The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request"
  4. Continuing on anyway... I tried unpacking the MSCOMCTLOCX file and was asked if I wanted to replace the file existing there already which was the same size but newer (I had one dated 3/27/2001 11:32 AM and what was coming in was dated 5/22/2000 12:00 AM). Decided to keep mine. Similar situation with MSWINSCK.ocx and again I decided to keep my already existing, newer dated file.
Since this is not working that well for me it's hard for me to tell exactly why I would want this tray icon. For example, will this trayicon pop up alerts if Mozilla Calendar is not running? Because if it is running then why would I need this? My assumption is that it will but I can't tell if it's working at all for me.

OK, just tested by adding an event into my calendar, shutting down the calendar but running the MozCalTry. No popup.
