Re: ZenPack ZenODBC-2.1.1-py2.4 Graphing Issue

Try this ZenODBC zenpack. Let me know if this version solve your problem.

All snmp traps are not being decoded

Hello
I am just started with ZenOSS
Details:
 - Ubuntu 9.10 server
 - Zenposs 2.5.1 , stack installer
Did  load public mibs by command zenmib run ./ietf*  ./irtf/* ./iana/* ./site/*
 Mibs are visible in GUI
Traps OID is not decoded in event console.
zendmd.Mibs.oid2name command output is just empty brackets.
snmptranslate command gives expected result even w/o pointing to MIBS location (-m)
Are there any means to debug traps processing in Zenoss ?
 Any other idea(s), experience ?

Thanks in advance

Graphing/Retrieving SNMP "child" OIDs, HPMon ZenPack

This is related to http://community.zenoss.org/message/35510#35510

I am trying to monitor the temperature sensors of an HP Proliant DL380, but this is something of a global question.

I've installed Igor's HPMon ZenPack and his deviceAdvDetail ZenPack. When I bind the
HPTemperatureSensor Template, I get no graphs. I've also bound all the various HP collector plugins.

The issue here appears to be a global problem with Zenoss not pulling and graphing child OIDs. For example,
the temperature OID from Igor's template is 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.4. If I do an snmpwalk from
inside or outside of Zenoss, I get all the various children under this OID. But Zenoss does not see these as
indiviual data points. In fact, zenperfsnmp.log shows "bad OID" for 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.4.

I know Zenoss is capable of parsing out child OIDs. For example, the ethernetCsmacd_64 Template obviously
understands how to walk the OID and return the children beneath it. If you model a switch, it just works,
seeing each switchport under the parent OID.

I realize I could create my own template and specify an indiviual OID for each temperature sensor, but that
is a pretty time consuming task, and it seems to me I'm either using Igor's ZenPacks improperly or there's a
concept I'm not understanding.

I'm running 2.5.1, btw.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Zenoss takes too much memory

My question is how would verbose logging or the size of the log file cause excessive memory usage.
