zenoss VM root password

hi all,
i've just recently downloaded the zenoss virtual machine at vmware's 
website.
can anyone here tell me the root password for the zenoss virtual machine?

Your type should be COUNTER or GAUGE.  Yours are likely GAUGE values.

Absolutely you can do this.  Just run install.sh from the directory you 
checked out with svn.
It is the absence of a tar ball for the Zenoss sources that starts an 
svn checkout of the rest of the sources.

I would need a little more context than this... like the last bit of 
zenbuild.log.

Bernd,

You have zenwin-0.22 and zenoss-0.21.  zenwin-0.22 is configured to  
use zenxevent which was new in zenwin-0.22.  If you change your  
zenwin configs to use zope for their zem parameter this should work.

The migration script has to be run successfully to proceed.

    $ zenmigrate run

    $ zenmigrate run commit

If it fails, send some details so we can work that out.

Dave,

Loading mibs right now only helps with snmp trap parsing not model  
collection.  Model collection is controlled by plugins that map the  
"real world" to the zenoss model.  Our default plugin for interfaces  
uses the MIB-II interface and ip tables.  I'm guessing that your  
firewall doesn't publish the vlans in this mib.  We can also collect  
interfaces over ssh or telnet by running commands on the remote box.   
Take a look at $ZENHOME/DataCollector/plugins/zenoss/cmd/linux/ 
ifconfig.py for an example.  Unfortunately, writing a plugin is not  
well documented yet.

Don't copy the files after download from svn.  You need to run  
install.sh from the zenossinst directory you downloaded.
