Monitoring multiple Linux Processes

Hello,

I’m trying to monitor multiple processes on Linux servers. I would like to use Page/subpage like described in the

Hobbit-clients.cfg file, but it will only show one processes on the page for each server. Here is a what I have in the file.

PAGE=infrastructure/noc

       PROC batchman

       PROC jobman

       PROC netman

Infrastructure is the page

Noc is the subpage.

XYMON only finds the first PROC.

What directory is it generating the pages in?  Are they there?  Is Apache looking at that dir?

Re: installation problem

Sounds like Xymon isn't generating the HTML pages in that directory.  Could be any number of issues.  I would try starting from scratch and be careful of directories specified for installation.

RE: Alerts : how State Flapping is handled by xymon?

Hi Henrik,

Is this easy to change? I want to know if there are too many state changes in 1 hour instead, how I would go about
changing this?

In the 4.2.x versions, there is no flap detection at all.

4.3.0 RC1 detects flapping. By default, a status is considered "flapping"
if there are more than 5 status changes over a 30-minute period (this can be changed, but it is a global
setting - not per-host configurable).

When a status is detected as flapping, it is "locked" on the most severe status. So if it was flapping between
yellow and red, it will be locked to "red" status. It will then stay red until it has been stable on another
color for at least 30 minutes.

Regards,
Henrik

Re: installation problem

Never ran into this before so I can't say anything from experience.

Is there anything in the log as to failure, permission problems?
