Re: lpar plugin final patches

Hi Aurélien,

thank you very much for you continued work on the plugin and your
patience with me ;)

I applied your patches and merged the "ar/lpar" branch to the "master"
branch. So the plugin will definitely make it into version 5.0. :)

Thanks again and regards,

collectd with collection3, showing nothing

Hi everyone
I've got collectd 4.10.0 installed on Centos 5.5. I followed the directions on http://collectd.org/wiki/index.php/First_steps. My objective is to monitor apache 2.2.3. I've set up collection3 as mentioned in the URL mentioned above. When I visit the index.cgi page, all I see are two empty boxes followed by the list box for data duration and a button.
I've tried changing the loaded plugins, but it made no difference. The /var/log/messages contains no errors for collectd. It is started just fine.
Any clue on how to go about debugging? How do I know if collectd is collecting the data from apache?
Thanks and best regards

Try to see if your RRDTool files are growing in size. How long did you let collectd running ? Did you try to change the scale
of the graph ? (+ - buttons).

Re: collectd with collection3, showing nothing

Thanks for the reply. The apache_*.rrd files are at 145k as of now. I'll watch them over some period of time to see if they grow.
However, on your other point, I see no +, - signs on the collection3 page.

Re: collectd with collection3, showing nothing

Oh, actually, the rrd files all have last modification date set to sometime last night. So, it seems not to be working. What should be my next step in debugging?

Re: collectd with collection3, showing nothing

In an attempt to remove rrd files, I mistakenly deleted the entire folder tree under /var/lib/collectd. :-(
I restarted collectd, reinstalled it, removed and installed it, and yet, those folders haven't been created. Is it a matter of time or what? By the way, collectd is installed on the same machine as the apache server. Do I need to post the configuration file?

Re: collectd with collection3, showing nothing

My bad! I was looking at the wrong place for the data files. Needless to say, I was also pointing collection3 to the wrong place for data files. Fixed now. I have graphs showing up.
