new plugin - multimeter

Hi!

I have a multimeter which can be connected to the serial port.

It is called Metex M4650CR.

This patch adds an new plugin called multimeter.

I made the patch against the latest debian source package
collectd-3.10.0 but it should do it for collectd-3.10.1 also.

No configuration is nesessary, this multimeter is autodetected
on programm start if connected and switched on.

Only your serial port has to be enabled (setserial /dev/ttyS0 autoconfig)

RE: Multimeter Plugin

Peter,

I am not a programmer and I am having some trouble merging the diff file back into the directory.  What is the command to put that back into the source directory?

I am working on building a plugin for a Watts-Up meter.  I found a program that gets the information from the Watts-Up meter and I am trying to combine that will the plugin system.  You code that you have done would help out.

Thanks

Nathan

copy multimeter2.diff inside collectd-3.10.1 directory

collection.cgi - rrd range seconds back

Hi!

With this patch you can call collection.cgi with a url like

http://localhost/cgi-bin/collection.cgi/cpu/1800

1800 sec == 30 Minutes

Forum/wiki or something

First of all great app.  It would really help if you created a forum or wiki page for people to share ideas and scripts.  It's far better than a mailing list.

I'll have a look at it. I recall writing this functionality, but I don't
know why I disabled it from the top of my head..

your patch compiled in the first go, so I've added it to my Git
repository. I might rename the plugin to something `Metex'-related. Or
is there some common multimeter protocol that more than this brand uses?
