Overview of anti-rsi software

Dear workrave developers and users,

Inspired by your overview/comparison of different anti-rsi/cans software
programs (http://www.workrave.org/features/) I have created a page
within the Dutch Wikipedia about this special category of software. If I
can find the time I will put up the same page in the English wikipedia
but I am not sure how to name it: 
* Break reminder software? 
* Break software? 
* Anti RSI/CANS exercise software? 
* Typing injury prevention software?

I invite you all to have a look at the page at

And to add comments/information/corrections...

Hopefully this pointer from within Wikipedia to your software, will
facilitate more people to find out about the existence of Workrave.

You could add RSI Master, http://www.rsimaster.com/  - commercial.

However, I prefer Workrave

Dear Sander,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a quick look at the rsi-master website,
but unfortunately there was only very little information about their
product (no price info, no contact details, etc). Also the website did
not look too professional as well. 

However, I will keep your suggestion in mind for adding it.

Configure program name in panel?

Hi,

the ability to display remaining time in a small panel between the
task bar and the clock area is interesting ... however, I can only
seem to get it to show times, the icons (hand and coffee cup), and the
word "Workrave".

I'd like to get rid of the word "Workrave" in there, since it takes up
space at the bottom of my screen but doesn't serve a useful purpose (I
know that the timers belong to workrave).

I'm not sure whether the word comes from Windows (and is displaying
the name of the applet) or from Workrave... but I'd like to get rid of
it, if possible.

If not, I'll have to live without the applet, and just use the
floating window if I want advance warning of breaks.

Right click on the applet, choose "show title".
The word "Workrave" should now disappear.

Hi! Thanks for your answer; unfortunately, when I right-click on the
word "Workrave" (part of the applet), I don't see any option "show
title".

The options I see are (translated from the German): Preferences /
Break / Exercises / Mode> / Network> / Statistics / About... ///
Symbol bars> /// Overlapping / Underneath / Next to one another / Show
desktop /// Task manager /// [X] Fix taskbar / Properties. ("///" is a
divider.)

Where am I supposed to look?

(I'm using Windows XP Professional, BTW.)

"Show title" disappears when "Lock the Taskbar" is selected. So first
choose "Lock the taskbar" to unlock, and then choose "show title" to
deselect. Optionally, choose "lock the taskbar" to lock it again.

Workrave does not 'see' me type after installing QLiner Hotkeys

All,

Since the postings of last week of enabling the Workrave applet in XP's 
taskbar, I implemented this as well (did not know it was possible) and 
switched off the Status window.

After that I installed QLiner Hotkeys, open source from:
http://www.qliner.com/hotkeys/

Since then, Workrave seems unable to detect keyboard activity and only 
looks at my mouse. I can easily test this: when I quit the Hotkeys app, 
Workrave sees me typing again.

Is there a method to have both work together? Anyone else who can test 
this? Hotkeys is a beautiful app as well

Statically linked version

Hi,

With great pleasure, I have been using Workrave on my Windows machine for some months now. However, we are now moving to a secure environment (for Unix)
where all of us get a thin-client to connect to a secure Linux (Redhat/KDE) environment. However, system management is not willing to installing Workrave in the secure environment
(it is non-standard ) and we as users don't have root permission... As a result, I am now forced to switch back to Workpace and pay for an expensive Linux licence since their Linux distribution
runs out of the box  (one executable without any dependancies on libraries) which I can simply install in my local directory.

Of course, I would like to spend my money on other things... So, is it possible to provide a statically linked version of Workrave?
