Re: hugin0.7_svn3097_patch1_20080531 for download

Hi Nicola,

You are right. In svn3080 a change has been implemented to change behaviour of the sliders, but it doesn't work correctly, at least not on OSX. I undid the change and recompiled hugin (not published, only on my own machine) and now it works again.
I will file a bug report.
I think I will release a new bundle early next week as the wxMac (wxwidgets) developers made some changes that will be of great benefit for Mac users (but also for linux and windows).
In that bundle I will also incorporate this hfov/vfov slider patch, be it my own "patch" or one from the development team. I don't know what my simple undoing of the previous change will do to other platforms so the developers might need to do further testing on other platforms.

Note: The changes of the wxMac developers require a development version of wxMac (wxwidgets). I don't know what that means to other platforms, but I will work on it.

2008/5/31 Nicola Cabibbo <nicola.cabibbo <at> gmail.com>:

This last build seems to solve a problem I had seen in previous ones:
the "Assistant" tab now works fine with 16-bit tifs (the normal chain
did so in previous builds.)
On the contrary the sliders in the "Panorama Preview" window do not
work (no effect). They did work before.

Best thanks for the impressive work,

  Nicola Cabibbo
PS I erroneously posted this (twice!) in another thread.

Get Pano2QTVR free version (windows only) or panocube (windows
version free, linux and Mac OSX about $13)...

Re: Cannot load TIFF file into Capture NX

This may be similar to what I am seeing on Linux: if I let hugin
create a TIFF file completely, the "EXIF copy" operation at the end
somehow makes other software think that the TIFF file is actually a
Nikon Raw file. I notice that when starting GIMP, it opens the file as
NEF RAW, and shows a completely scrambled image.

I would like to have a solution to this too.

Last time I used erect2qtvr script[1] which is part of the
Panotools::Script perl module. I used current SVN from panotools.sf.net,
as I needed it to work with latest freepv.

(I have no experience with OS X, but Perl should be supported there,
too.)

For Mac OS X, look for the free MakeCubic from apple or try
CubicConverter (shareware) from http://www.clickheredesign.com.au

Re: Cannot load TIFF file into Capture NX

Hi,

this is not a hugin problem. This is a problem with the gimp-ufraw plugin which
registers all the files for itself.

Change the respective line

> (extension "arw,bay,bmq,cr2,crw,cs1,dc2,dcr,dng,erf,fff,hdr,ia,jpg,k25,kc2,kdc,mdc,mef,mos,mrw,nef,orf,pef,pxn,qtk,raf,raw,rdc,sr2,srf,sti,tif,ufraw,x3f")

in .gimp-2.4/pluginrc to something reasonable, eg

(extension "nef")

Cheers

Re: How to create qtvrs?

Hi,

thank you Erik, Vit and Dave. Now I remembered that I used MakeCubic
some years ago and it still works :-) I have to play-around a little
with the settings but think it will work. Thanks again.

hello all.
MakeCubic for OS X can be downloaded here:
ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/Quicktime/Tools/QTVR/MakeCubic_v1.1.6.sit
(I had a bit of a struggle to find it, since I haven't used it since
my upgrade to Leopard...)
A little bit of documentation can be found here:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation//QuickTime/InsideQT_QTVR/5Chap/chapter_7_section_3.html
Cheers.

I use hugin 0.7.0-svn2766 on a MBP with Mac OS X 10.5.3.

As a final remark: Please update your Hugin version. New SVN's have come out fixing numerous bugs.
