Re: hugin OSX and autopano-sift

Try installing autopano-sift-C. It worked for me, although it seems
require that there not be spaces in the path name (unlike the previous
version), and it crashed on a 90 image panorama (* <at> $! <at> #! :). I tried
moving back to the old version, and can't get it to work again --
something about a tempfile.pto (which I can't find anywhere on my
system, where is this supposed to go?).

Re: hugin OSX and autopano-sift

I have to take back this advice.  autopano-sift-C is quite unstable;
for example it crashes Hugin if it doesn't find any control points.
After crashing Hugin forgets its autopano setting so you have to
reset. All in all, very painful. The old version was stable, if
slower -- you could leave it to do its work.

Mac latest SVN snapshot

Hello everyone,

I've just uploaded the latest snapshot of hugin on Mac that I
compiled last week. Please note this is a snapshot and not for
deployment. Please watch your console log (/Applications/Utilities/
Console.app) for debug messages.

Thanks,
Ippei

Hugin & HDR on OSX 10.4.10

Hi all,

I previously had Hugin 0.6.1 working successfully on various OSX
systems, and even 0.7beta1 worked somewhat OK. However, I went today
to start stitching another panorama. When I tried loading images into
the panorama with 0.6.1, I get:
   Hugin Error
   Could not read image size

These images are all HDR images, and whether I try to load the
Radiance RGBE (.hdr) format or 32-bit float TIFF format (.tif) into
Hugin, the same error results.

I also tried with Ippei's debug snapshot from today (20070701), and
got a similar error message:
    Unsupported image file format
    Could not decode image: _MG_0880_81_79_HDR.tif

I can load LDR .jpg and .tif image files just fine into hugin 0.6.1,
so the error seems limited to HDR images.

I suspect that it is the latest version of OSX that has broken
existing binaries, but I really have no evidence in any direction,
other than knowing that this workflow used to work. Ideas?

Best,
-- Elliot

Re: first image is white? current svn

For me too. Today's CVS still has the problem.

The workaround, for me, is to import autopano-sift's out.pto file and
immdetialy save it as a different file. Open that file in a text
editor and search for the first occurrence of "Eev" and change it to 0
so it matches all the other Eev occurrences. Now open the fixed .pto
file in Hugin and everything works as it should.

Hopefully that helps anyone else suffering from the first-picture-
white problem.

libpano12-2.8.6 & libpano13-2.9.12 sources

I released libpano12-2.8.6 and libpano13-2.9.12 tar archives to the
sourceforge download area:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=96188

(These are snapshots of the code as it existed two days ago, they
haven't been tagged in subversion because subversion sucks)

With this release it is now possible to install both pano12 and
pano13 in parallel without conflicts, so these should be suitable
for packaging in linux distributions for example.

Note that libpano12-2.8.6 is binary incompatable with 2.8.4, so any
applications built against this previous version will need to be
relinked. However, libpano12-2.8.6 _is_ binary compatible with
older releases and the old PTStitcher tool.

As before, Windows users looking for the current binary version
of 'panotools' should be pointed to Jim Watters' site:

So, for hugin users:

For building hugin up to and including 0.6.1, you need libpano12.

If you want to use the the old binary-only PTStitcher tool with
hugin, you need libpano12.

For recent hugin-0.7 SVN snapshots you need libpano13.

It seems to work with libpano12 as well.
This is fortunate, because I can't hugin's configure to
use libpano13:

Bruno,

The version 2.9.12 seems to be the first official tarball of
libpano13. Is there a list of changes with regards to libpano12?
