problems about beangenarator for owl ontology

Dear all,

I need to use beangenerator in Protege 3.1 http://www.acklin.nl/page.php?id=34
to generate java class to an owl ontology in JADE, there is the
need to include the OWLSimpleJADEAbstractOntology as you can read.

But having an OWL File based project in Protege 3.1  I can't include
another OWL ontology. It seems that there is no function for including
another OWL-File based Protege project as in version 2.1.2 Protege
(working with text-based projects).

Does anyone have the experience of using beangenerator for owl ontology
in protege3.1? Please help me.

Sincerely,
Roger

Re: Importing Ontology

Yes please. Having the original file is always the best way of tracking
bugs.

The core Protege project inclusion has been replaced with an owl:imports
mechanism (according to the OWL spec) in the OWL Plugin. So please use
the metadata tab to add imported namespaces.

If you don't get help here, you may want to contact the authors
directly. But it's great to see that their plugin now also works for
OWL projects!

Within our project someone has also tried to use the bean generator for
protege 3.0. This did not work very well ( I do not know the details
though). So for our simple JADE ontology we have used Protege 2.1.2. If
you get the bean generator to work for Protege 3.1, I would be very
interested as well.

Jasper

bugs in open unsupported file type?

Hi, Holger

I found an interesting problem in protege3.1.

Select "open project", then you don't choose a .pprj file; you can choose an other typed file (e.g., .zip).
Of course, protege report an exception information. But then, you can do nothing except typing "ctrl + C" in the cmd window.
I am using Winxp + sp2.

I understand it seems strange or stupid to do so, but I think it is a bug indeed.

Regards,
Roger

New Protege 3.2 beta build: Wizards fixed

Hi All,

Thanks to Jennifer at Stanford, there is now a new Protege 3.2 beta
distribution build (234) available in which the wizards are fixed.
As far as I know, this is the only difference, so if you don't use
wizards don't worry.
Apologies again,

Nick

Re: bugs in open unsupported file type?

Well, yes - this would be a bug (outside of the OWL realm).

BTW, we hope to have an option to load .owl files directly in the
future, without having to go through a .pprj file.

Re: ezOWL and OWLPlugin

ezOWL does no longer seem to be supported. The last available version
is for Protege 2.1(193) & OWL Plugin 1.1(110) as shown on its web site.
You could try to find the matching Protege versions in the history
section of the download page.
