Apache and Netware 6.5

Hello All,

It is great to have a list like this i.e. Novell and Schools!

I am experiencing some problems with memory leaks on our Netware servers. We
have Netware 6.5 SP1 and I am considering installing NW65SP2 to fix the
problem. The problem is after a server has been rebooted the Cache Buffers
is around 60%. Within 2 days it is around 20%. I noticed this morning that
one of our servers ran out of Cache Buffers completely and there was an
abended process of one of Apache's worker threads. Apache is loaded and
running on all our Netware servers. I am also looking at any patches
available for Apache.

Any ideas?

Re: Apache and Netware 6.5

Hi Charles,

Do you know what version of apache you are running?

I think the most current versions are available from http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/netware/

Hopefully there will be a patched-up version available for you there.

Ah, the bane of my existence for the past few months. Craig Wiley
from the Brisbane Novell office posted the following on the SEQNUG
list a few weeks back:

Applying SP2 and following the other steps in the TID mentioned above
fixed the problem for me.

Re: Apache and Netware 6.5

Yes, apparently SP2 will fix this problem. We have had the same thing
with BackupExec. We have gone to SP2 on our master replica (let it
settle for a couple of weeks) and are getting ready to deploy on other
servers by end of term.

Hey PaulG - you might want to see if Wayne can join this list!

Regards,
Ben.

We found that SP2 was not enough, and the steps described in the TID
had to be followed in order to get the server stable. Attached is a
memory graph on one of my main servers for you to laugh at. The
beginning of the flat line is where we implemented the memory limiting
parameters.

He already has... :-)

RE: Apache and Netware 6.5

To All,

Thanks for your prompt replies. Alas it seems I will have to load NW65SP2
and follow the directions on TID 10091980.
