Why can't I edit item's barcode?

I've just installed Koha, and run into a problem:  It won't let me edit the item's barcode; when I click in the field it fills it in with the next sequential number, and I can't edit it.  Changing the "autoBarcode" system preference doesn't seem to affect behaviour.

I was expecting to be able to use the existing barcode on some items, and purchase sequentially numbered pre-preinted barcodes for the rest.

I don't see any differences between the settings I have and those on the LibLime demo, which does let me edit the item's barcode.

Version information:

Koha version:       2.2.6
       OS version (from 'uname -a'):       Linux chirpa 2.4.27-3-386 #1 Wed Dec 6 00:38:33 UTC 2006 i586 GNU/Linux
       Perl version:       5.008004
MySQL version:       mysql  Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.11, for pc-linux-gnu (i386)
       Apache version:

Thanks,

Re: Koha 2.2.7 Windows version install issues.

I installed the Windows version of Koha 2.2.7 following the exact steps in http://www.koha.rwjr.com/ . During the install, couple of messages showed up which concerned with Apache and the fact that Koha install cannot find either the Apache.exe or the httpd.conf file. I let the install find those files and finished the installation.

After everything was complete, I inputted http://localhost in my browser and the only thing that came up is the text "It Works!" No Koha interface. Also, the only place I found the Apache.exe file was at C:\Program Files\IBM\Director\websrv\bin.

I'm using Windows XP SP2.

Any clues on why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

Jeff

The difference will probably be in the MARC framework. Most likely your
barcode field has the barcode plugin assigned to it, if you remove that
the autobarcode will go away.

Hopefully that'll get you on the right track but feel free to ping
us if you need more info.

Cheers,

Re: Re: Koha 2.2.7 Windows version install issues.

Koha will work only if you install it at C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\bin
Measn your apache.exe must be at the above path. so use an appropriate version of apache (apache_2.0.59-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi) is best for this purpose

Re: How can I input image into patron

Dear Prasetyo

1-Set Koha >> system preferences >>circulation>> patronimages to jpg or png
2- Put all images (in jpg or png format) at
C:\usr\koha227\intranet\htdocs\patronimages with cardnumber as
file name

Display Key Word Field

Hi Everyone,

I have just completed defining my MARC Structure and have added a few test books.

I notice there does not seem to be a specific Koha field for adding a Key Word (as opposed to a controlled subject term) to a catalogue record. I have tried using the 653 tag and defined this as key word, but I am not happy with the way the results display on the catalogue (i.e. the key word is listed under the other controlled subject terms).

Has anyone met this problem, or got any input – perhaps I am missing something obvious at this stage…..

As usual, any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jenny

Z39.50 Search Issue

Dear Rob and All

I am testing Koha 2.2.7 from last two months. I have fixed so many
things with the help, cooperation and support of Koha community and
specially Rob.
I installed the new release of Koha 227
(http://koha.rwjr.com/Koha2.2.7-W32-R3.EXE) with Perl Modules Release
5 for Koha (http://koha.rwjr.com/Perl5.8.xModulesForKohaR5.EXE). I
have also installed the Patch
(http://koha.rwjr.com/PerlModulesPatchR1.EXE).

Now Koha is working fine, but Z39.50 search is not working properly.
Is there any problem with my installation or this option is not
available for Win 32 (I have read somewhere for older versions of
Koha, z39.50 search is not available, I think in Rob Weir help file).

Can someone guide me in this regard?

when i search through z39.50 button the following error is shown:

Important cataloguing discussion

Salvete!

http://www.loc.gov/bibliographic-future/

I figured that I would post this here after hearing about it from another list. Seeing as how our developers give a darn about what users and librarians want, it might be very fruitful for folks to look over.

More than one installation on one server

Can somebody please give me some information on how to go about putting more than one Koha site on the same server?

I do have an installation up and running. I created a second installation using different ports for both the intranet and opac sides. Two config files for each site have also been created with different names, appropriate paths, db info, permissions, etc. Web server listens and responds on the assigned ports.

I can watch both the koha and opac error logs and see where I fail, which always appears to be in relation to C4::Context.  With this, I reviewed the Context.pm file and set the "use constant CONFIG_FNAME => "/etc/koha.conf";" statement to "use constant CONFIG_FNAME => "/etc/koha-2.conf";" (the name of my second config file).

What I've done, doesn't appear to work. Even though my httpd.conf include appears to work properly, the only time I got a log in window in Koha on the 2nd site was when I changed the above CONFIG_FNAME to the new path in my first installation.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, to set up the new site, I copied my first site into the new path, created a new DB, changed permissions, and created new config files.

Thanks.

Dan
