Using lccn in koha 2.2.0 rc2
Hello all, thanks to everyone who has worked to make koha available. 1. one of the features i have been waiting for is to use lccn in koha rather than dewey. however i have set up 2.2.0 rc2 but i do not know any setting to be made to use lccn or any other type of call number. could any on explain how or give me pointers? 2. also the library i am installing for (Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library, Ile-Ife Nigeria - over 400,000 biblios) has lccn in 050 (the original loc call number) and their own variation in 090. sometimes it matches for each record and sometimes not. but i notice 090 is being used by koha internally. can i change this to something else without breaking koha? the library will want 090 displayed in opac seach as call number but still retain 050 3. where is the place to specify the physical location of items. thanks ===== Olugbenga Adara MCP Consultant, 3om Services, 75, Lebanon Street, Dugbe, Ibadan, Nigeria. Look under your <koha_intranet_install_path>/scripts/misc/translator directory for the script called tmpl_process3.pl 2. Run it from the command-line (you may need to set the PERL5LIB env variable first) using the detailed instructions & examples provided in the the file translator_doc.txt present in the same directory. NOTE: the above documentation talks about the older tmpl_process.pl, do not use that script, just simply follow the instructions given using the tmpl_process3.pl instead in its (tmpl_process.pl) place. hth, -indra. > > Jose Luis Diaz > V Region > Chile -- -- ------------------------------------------------------------- Indranil Das Gupta, Project Lead, CASTLE Project [Computer Aided Studies, Teaching and Learning Environment] In collaboration with: West Bengal University of Technology Calcutta, INDIA www.wbut.net ------------------------------------------------------------- L2C2.ORG - Bringing Localized Low-Cost Computing to People -------------------------------------------------------------

z3950 and marc_breeding
Ciao, I want to use koha for an italian school but I'm encountering some problems: I have installed Koha 2.2RC2 upgraded to 2.2RC3, on a debian sarge when I try to use z3950 to download a marc record from Italian z3950 servers I can find some records but the isbn, title and author fields appear void in the popup window. Looking in the z3950queue table I can see that there are some records, but the isbn field is void, the title and author fields contain the NULL value. I also had to add the line: my $context = new C4::Context; to get the script processz3950queue not aborting at the start, (same problem of Harry Jacson and the virtual hosts configuration with PERL5LIB and KOHA_CONF pointing to the right files) some lines of the log file: SBS UNIVERSITA DI SIENA : sbs2.unisi.it:9909 records retrieved 4 speed: 4 sbs2.unisi.it:9909 search done. DBD::mysql::st execute warning: at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/z3950daemon/processz3950queue line 141. DBD::mysql:st execute failed: MySQL server has gone away at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/z3950daemon/processz3950queue line 144. DBD::mysql:st execute failed: MySQL server has gone away at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/z3950daemon/processz3950queue line 149. DBD::mysql::st fetchrow failed: fetch() without execute() at /usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/z3950daemon/processz3950queue line 150. The encoding I use is UNIMARC, so I'm asking if someone of the french koha users can post the parameters of a french z3950 server and a title of a book that I can find in it, just to test my Koha configuration. Thanks Marco Vaninetti

Re: about classification and callnumber (for "tungsten")
Paul, Just the kind of information I'm looking for. All of our Dewey numbers are showing up as 0.000000 after a book/item is added to the biblio. We have obtained Marc21 records from the Library of Congress and are adding them to the breeder table and then building biblio. Are there step by step instructions for adding an itemcallnumber. I won't be able to test this until later and I want to make sure I get it right the first time. FYI We are running version 2.0.1. Many thanks, Rich Paul POULAIN wrote: > Hello all, hi tungsten, > > I've read your irc question.
