Generating reports of values in 001

Hello, there have been previous posts on this issue but no satisfactory
answers yet. I have posted the following query in Nicole Engard's ByWater
Solutions website and she has referred me to this group in case the SQL
queries
<http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SQL_Reports_Library#Withdrawn_Titles_Li
st_to_Send_to_OCLC> she pointed me to don't work:

"I still can't find a good way to generate a report of the values stored in
the 001 tag, either from Koha's report wizard or creating SQL queries using
"ExtractValue(marcxml,'//controlfield[ <at> tag="001"]') AS OCLC Control Number".
And there's no easy way to map a Koha field to 001 and/or 003 to be able to
run reports that include these control fields. I would appreciate some
help."

Is this a data issue? Why don't the ExtractValue function work? There's data
in the 'marcxml' or 'marc' fields when I simply select them in a query?

Many, many thanks for any help.

error on import Marc Record from z39.50 servers listed in Koha (Mesfin Teshome) - SOLVED

Hi all,
I thought this might help some people. I asked in this forum about the import Marc Record from Z39.50
servers. The problem was not consistent. So I was out of ideas or other options. I wanted to do an in place
upgrade on the existing 3.12 with the 3.12 installation files thinking this would fix if there are any
database inconsistencies. But before I did that I thought I should update the system (Ubuntu 12.04). So I
did sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade. This upgraded MySQL and other python and perl
components. I restarted the system and wanted to try importing the same books again before I did the in
place upgrade (re-installtion). And VIOLA ...I was able to import the books. Case solved and librarians
happy with the upgrade.

Call Number Display

Hi, my name is Kenan, I'm new to Koha and have a question regarding how
Koha deals with call numbers. I've tried searching for the solution prior
to mailing this. I am running Koha 3.12 on Ubuntu Server edition 12.04.2
LTS.

I imported my MARC records anticipating using field 90a for my call
numbers, however even though I have itemcallnumber set to 90a, the intranet
and OPAC still doesn't show anything under the item listing for Call
Number. I can however see values under 90a in the MARC view. Also nothing
shows up when I use the quick spine label creator.

Is there something I'm missing? Thank you in advance,

Kenan Scott

MARC21 classification format

Hi,

The MARC21 authority frameworks that ship with Koha include (in the
default framework) tags defined by the MARC21 classification format.
[1]

I'm not entirely sure that they belong there, however -- while it
appears that classification records could in principle be used to
authorize classification numbers found in both bibliographic and
authority records, adding support for such functionality might well
entail creating a separate set of MARC tables.

Is there anybody making active use of the MARC21 classification format
fields in their Koha database? For that matter, is there anybody
making use of the MARC21 classification format, period? Is there
anybody who has access to classification records who *wishes* they
could use them in Koha?

Koha multiple instance

I have Koha 3.10.5 installed in Debian 6.0 x64. Now, I want to install
another instance by following
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Installing_Multiple_Instances_of_Koha, I
was able to do until perl Makefile.PL but when I go 'make' part, I get
-bash: make: command not found. That's in our working server. But when I
tried it in local server with almost same config (Koha 3.10.5 - Debian 6.0),
I was able to install another instance. What could be the problem with my
working server? Thanks & have a nice day!

Building authority records after data migration

Dear all,

Recently, I have successfully migrated all bibliographic records into Koha
3.12. I would like to find out how to build up authority records using bib.
records that are in Koha? There doesn't seem to be any instruction on this
that will help newbie (like myself) to achieve this.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Iming

Report help needed

I'm tracking down some unauthorized subject headings and have run into a
problem with a term that is far too common in our catalogue to be useful
in any kind of search.

I'm trying to devise a report that will look for 650 fields with a
subfield a, but without a subfield 9 - But the second half of what I need
- a report of not just the rogue term, but also the biblio number of the
record that it is in. I have tried several things but cannot get it to
work.

The functional part of my report is here:

SELECT DISTINCT heading FROM (
 SELECT ExtractValue(marcxml,
'//datafield[ <at> tag="650"]/subfield[ <at> code="a"]') AS heading
 FROM biblioitems
 WHERE
  length(ExtractValue(marcxml,
'//datafield[ <at> tag="650"]/subfield[ <at> code="a"]')) != 0 AND
  length(ExtractValue(marcxml,
'//datafield[ <at> tag="650"]/subfield[ <at> code="9"]')) = 0
) AS heads
ORDER BY heading

This gives a list of headings in 650 fields that are not linked to
authorities
Can anyone help me add in the query that will return the biblionumber too?
Thanks in advance
